Hey all,
If you're a fan of fantasy basketball or sim leagues, there's an online fantasy basketball game that's really neat. Check it out at: http://www.courtrivals.com
Rather than form a team of real players, you create your own player, train that player, and act as that one player. You then can create/join a team with your friends and play against real people around the world in games that are simulated nightly. It's like a basketball multiplayer online game.

Also their filler player somehow managed to outscore ours 14-3.
Re: 45 Mine seems like he is doing worse as he trains more also. The more I look at this game the more i think we have little to no control over what is going on. Look at some of the top ranked players in the game. The number 2 player is averaging 4.8 points per game.
The only thing i can think of is that I think the more you train in some areas the worse you become in the areas that you dont train in. When you first start you are very even in all areas so you put up good numbers in all areas but as you train rather than help the areas you train in it hurts the areas that you dont train in.

i try to keep my training even, except i focused on endurance, to keep my guy on the court and 3 pointers. well i am shooting about 20 % from 3 point, i guess i will try to even out the other cats.

Endurance only affects how many training points you get, it has nothing to do with playing the games.

The thing I don't like is the games over use of 3 pt shots. Nowhere near reality.

Well if you max your endurance at 20 then you keep getting 20 points to work with at midnight, so it isn't a waste, if that's the first thing you kept building on you'd have the most points to work your player for the forseeable future.

my player also gets worse. I am putting most of my points into shooting. I am currently at 37, 25, 25 and my percentages are .344, .333 and .625.
I wonder what attribute does the most for the performance of your player/team.
post 44 seems very important as the season progresses. not today and not tomorrow, but in 5 days I see some Training Management going on.

i think using the strategy in post 44 helps eliate the problem now
Try to use as much of the longer training times as possible while still using all your points. This will delay when you reach the point when you can;t use all 20 points

I was concentrating on rebouding and it has been going up. 5, 7, 7, 8 in the last 4 games. The game claims that the abilities of the opponent have an effect on your stats and that team that beat us is the only undefeated team in the league.

The creator also said that if everyone is the same level the points will be spread out pretty evenly and so on. So for points to not be changing alot of players are probably working the same skills.

I have spent most of my time doing 3 point shooting as it now takes 2:45 to train. cant do it too many times a day anymore. 2 pt shooting is at an hour and everything else is less

The way training is set up I think I am less likely to buy a premium subscription the more I play the game. When all my training was 15-20 minutes it would have been nice to set up five at a time. Now that it takes a few hours I only need two and can check back before they finish.

My guy is set up to be the next Chris Paul. I did buy the $5 premium to make things easier. As DH points out after a certain point it isnt as useful.

We lost by 12 to a team that has 3 of the top 4 players in the game. Frickin Tall went off for 39 points on 12-16 from the field, 7-9 from 3, and 8-10 from the line. No idea where that kind of stat line comes from. Especially when noone else scores double digits. Weird AI.

I don't know where that came from either. I had been averaging double digit games after my initial game explosion.
I wonder if they didn't have a human player that could guard me, or if the AI is that funky.
I have been training with the goal of having a minimum of 20 to 25 in every area. I had been putting all of my training into 1-2 areas.
I need to look into calculating how much time I will spend each day training each skill so that I can maximize my 20 tc points.

I actually created the 10th player on the team Tucker Lynn and have not trained him at all. I used my wifes email and dont want to get that player too involved for fear of having my original player taken away. But he has his original settings and he sucks so far so I don't think that will help.

T Lynn our topscorer last night. WTF? he is untrained! is the amount of training you do each day affecting your playing performance. it really looks like it.
looking at my Levels I guess that I can only spend all of my training points for 3 more days. then the training average will be well above 1:12 and it will get tricky to use all of them. if training really affects the players game than Kevin Johnson should be a force next week.

Just train on some of the other things that take less time. Without prem just choose a short one and then a longer one. The when the short one is over add another short to the Q and then remember to come back after both finish. If you repat that process you will use 3 training per time you check in on things.

I am about ready to quit playing this game. I think it is set up very poorly. I have spent 20 TC on my guy every day and he gets worse and worse every game, and players who dont train are the leading scorers. It makes no sense.

Heres my guy right now: Speed: 33 Endurance: 20 Bal Handling: 16 Passing: 12 Shooting: 51 3pt Shoot: 20 FT Shoot: 20 Dunking: 27 Rebounding: 34 Blocking: 30 Defense: 31 Leadership: 32
My lines are a consistent: 2-7 FG, 2-3 FT, 3 RB, 6 Pts.
This sim needs a lot of development. Once its matured some, I'll revisit, but for now, its just a time waster.

Don't know if you guys care to look elsewhere, but I have been playing at cyberdunk.com for the last couple of seasons there. Training and game preformace seems to make some sense, although like goalline in order to buy a team you either need to get a ton of referals or spend some money. But just the character play itself isn't too bad, plus they have in game betting to increase your game capital.

I am throwing in the towel on this league. I dont know if you want me to remove myself from the team or just let it play out. I am sick of checking this thing every hour or so and having my stat line not change at all.
My averages have gone down consistently since day 1 even with all my extra training.

I understand if anyone wants to stop checking regularly. We have noone to replace you with so feel free to stay with the team. The site owner did post a message that his next thing to add is coaching options so hopefully we will see those soon. I am gonna keep going on just cuz I like watching my guy climb the player ranking even if it does not seem to make him a better player.

for me I jsut didnt like having to check in 10 times a day to not really do anything. Also the game engine did seem pretty poor as the results were very random with everyone taking 3s and one game our scrub led in scoring by a lot.

When teammates both have attributes over 65 they sometimes form chemistry which supposedly boosts their production. Those two have a 65 shooting and a 65 passing.

Be careful how you use those settings. As the team PG I set mine to Pass more all the way to the left. I had my fewest assists in the last 10 games and led the team in scoring.

Season will reset soon. I think there are playoffs on June 2 or so. There were about 150 players when we first signed up and over 1200 now so it is getting much bigger. Coaching options have been added that make it much more interesting. Here is a post from the message board of how stats will be affected at the reset.
Here's how it will work. You will be rolled back to your base attributes (Speed/Shooting/Dunking/etc.) + 10% of last season's attributes + award bonuses.
For example.... At season's end, Bob is a 790 point player with 20 endurance, 70 in each attribute category, and he won an award like "First Team Court Rivals."
At the start of season 2, Bob will have his base attributes, +7 in each attribute category, -and- he will get an additional bonus for winning an award.
His training times will also reduce as a result (because his attributes will now be in the 30-40 range instead of the 70 range)
Like I said, this was something I felt I *had* to do because training times would get so high at some point that training would be such a long and drawn out process in order to see even a marginal improvement in your player.
Historical stats like points per game, rebounds per game, etc. will all be retained.
Important to note that the 10 percent you keep rounds down. So if your category is 70 you get 7 bonus points if you have 69 you get 6.
