This game has just recently gone "live". It is produced by the same guy that did the simulated sports horse racing game and he also was involved in a basketball sim some of you have played, although he wasn't the originator of that one as far as I know.

Basically there are 32 teams in a league, you draft (simulated) players, sign players, (salary cap and roster limits), have injuries, set your offense and defense lineups, and have various options of setting your offensive and defensive packages and play calling. The output of a game is similar to what you find from the various 'live' games from sites for the nfl, but has more commentary about what is happening. You can access a box score view, the game log with the play by play, or 'watch' the game unfold similar to what you see from one of the various sites showing the nfl games on the web.

The basic game is free to play, however, there are additional features you can unlock (like the advanced playbook features) by buying game credits. You can also earn credits through referals.

I find it entertaining and enjoy the personal control you have over your team. There isn't as much control over the initial draft other than setting a matrix that would favor a position over another for example, but the leagues are ongoing so you sign players to long term contracts with bonuses that count against the cap, etc. The future drafts you can see the player attributes etc before you set your draft list. Again, this is not a "live" draft, but more of an auto draft style based on pre-set criteria. There are also injuries that occur during a season that can knock a player out for various lengths or reduce the level at which they play at during games if you choose to keep playing them.

There are various league options you can choose from when you join, like once a week leagues, leagues with no injuries, etc, so you can hopefully find one to your liking. A good thing is the creator of the game is very responsive to input. Right now new leagues are being formed or you can taking over an existing team with no current owner.

It does take a bit of playing with it to get comfortable and the documentation is still being developed, but it is worth checking out in my mind.

Feel free to use my referal link or not if you sign up, but please don't sign up just to get me credits.

Enjoy!

I'd still recommend this game to anyone that likes football.

How much of a disadvantage is it to play not using credits? In SSHR you really don't need them but in SSB without them you can't recruit successfully enough to keep with the top teams.

That is hard to answer because I have the options, although a lot of people are playing without them and winning. One disadvantage comes in the draft when you can't set your own draft order and the cpu will set what it thinks is best for your team, which is done around week 4 of the season I think. Another is that you get an extra $10M in salary cap room with any level of purchased options (there are 3 tiers)

You start out with free credits that allows you to do things to try them out. You can also get credits by winning the league.

I haven't played SSB so I can't compare the two, but my thought would be that you can play the game for free and still enjoy it with a good chance of winning. I set my own detailed offensive playbook (tier 3 options), but I have also used the default one too. There are various options of tweaking the playbook but I'm not for sure whether that takes game credits or not.

Most people that are playing it seem to really enjoy it and a lot are free users. Bit of a learning curve similar to the horse racing game, but I think it is worth checking out.

Sorry for the late reply

I had a 93 Talon back in the day and parts are not as cheap to come by as they are for Honda's. But the overall reuslt, espically if you have a TSI could be great depending on how you build it. Good Luck
