Just one day before races are carded.

I'll be looking to get 13 horses into races, including all 4 of my new 2yo's making their debuts.

jkaye1 has 6 going, meaning it will hit 20 races this week. Next week will be the debut of April Fireworks.

jkaye features Late Beau's last chance at MSW(his 9th). Not even sure why I am not putting him in MCl yet, but I tried to build on his 78 speed on dirt, and never tested him on turf. He gets that chance now.

sunday89 features Out With Colony, who hopefully continues the speed improvement he showed from his first race to the second.

All 3 will be hitting the claimers hard. I've had some horses claimed, and now have 21 horses out of 30 possible.

Sixth Deputy, of course, gets the week off. Good luck to everyone in 1089.

My 1089 will see a further decline in my win/place/show%. I'm sending 4 horses to the ASR divisional wars, and only 1 even has a ghost of a chance to compete. Overall, I've got 13 runners going (I hope). Same problem will happen next week, when Skin Jumping's win streak will end; however, I have some hope that in 1096, I may be able to place a couple of my horses in the second week of the divisional war.

Either way, my stables are set for a decline again here in the next couple of weeks. Sal at the Bell will debut in 1096. He's my real hope for a GI racer -- a MiswakixDamascus progeny. I mean, c'mon. That breeding is danged solid. Let's see if the sim can screw that one up.

I signed up 14 different sharp horses this week from my stables, many of which came up sharp a week too early. I think I am going to have to put a limit on how many races I enter each week. That was brutal finding all those races and I still have to go choose jocks now. I entered a few in claimers a few restricted allowance races and several in MSW. As Madman has said before, trying to find an MSW for a 3yo is rough right now. I'll be surprised if all my horses get entered.

Also started a new stable for my daughter (Allyfarms) for her to play with (we're going to manage as a team). A couple of horses with good lines, but no idea how that translates into the SIM.

OK, finished entering the jock selections. One race has over 60 entries. Hopefully I get in a few races this week.

Races are posted!

Pepi undercut..0501..4/1..No.10...Equal second fav behind Jkaye's , Out with colony..Had Hogin on him LTO and went okay so figured i would try and retain him...Hopefully will go alright..

Boldly wrap..4610..14/1..No.2...First start for him...Will just have to see..

Rule in the burns..2405..10/1..No.2...She's having a try at 10f this week...Not holding my breath really..

Girlfriend parking..1306..14/1..No.14...First try on dirt for him...Will have to wait and see here also..

Raindrop mark..0712..16/1..No.6...Another switch of surfaces for a tryout..

Hick succeeding..5005..20/1..No.12...Shipped him to Japan...After the last effort on dirt i think his best chances of getting a win are on turf and therefore in Europe...Am not really concerned if he bombs here(and he probably will anyway) cause the shipping costs will eliminate any bp's..Hopefully next time out for him..

Bee stacking..0215..10/1..No.2.. First start for this guy as well..

Jay theatre...3812..No.9..11/1...Back into the maiden claimers for him...am not sure i really want him after his last effort!!..

All in all a lot of experimenting this week...Pepi and maybe Raindrop mark only real chances of getting itm i think..

I've got a mess this week. I have 7 of 11 slated for ITM or 4th. But I've also got Agriculture Bomber going for a dirt test (8f, sigh, too short) at 70/1 and Casino Cart at 49/1 (I was going to go for maiden claimers with him, but something didn't work, can't remember what). He's actually got much better odds than that, since he's been run every week. If he can go 75+ speed like I think he can, he should be competitive.

Dixon Queen will be snagged from me at 6/5 odds in her maiden claim race.

I also have two horses in the auction. You can feel free to bid on them, although I don't obviously recommend it.

I have 38 Nags running on Saturday. Most have decent odds, with a couple on either side of that equation. Most of my best runners and future stars are running.

Utterly The Kelly Comes from my GLKfarms stable. Trying for that elusive ALW2x victory with a first time run on Turf. She came in at 3 to 1 odds so I am thinking the sim views her as a Turfer.
Miss's Butcher From my Fletchfarm stable. Again. Chasing the elusive NW2x tag. I have not experimented with this horse other than stretching a little on the Dirt, but I bring him right back to a dirt sprint this week, where he should break the 100 SP mark.
Foxy GolfI think this horse is my furture. She is a 3 year old Filly who has not been farther than 3 horses back, or three lengths back in all 4 of her races. She has a 4-2-1-1 record, and comes in at 5 to 1 odds in a ALW3L race.

As predicted, it was another off-week for me in 2nd's and 3rd's -- zero each. Further, I lost Dixon Queen (also as predicted) after a solid 78 speed turf route win. Sigh. All in all, a pretty bad week, actually. It's the sort of week where you're just biding your time, waiting to accumulate breeding points.

I gained a few nags in claimers, but no one I'm super excited about. Actually, Dixon Queen was better than anyone I gained. Sigh again.

My overall race to ITM % was pretty bad with a 39-5-7-1 record, but I had some excellent victories this week. I nabbed a second place in a stakes race, and one of my hopefuls I mentioned above won an ALW2x 13 fur Turfer by 15 lengths :). Woohoo. Madman, I want those sp's :) Can you log onto MSN messenger?

What a pathetic, pathetic week. 13 races. Dixie Bungess won a 5K claimer race. 2yo Broke Night finished 2nd, the only of my newborns to do anything--the others were last or second to last(ugh!)--and Out With Colony was 4th. No one else earned me anything. Frank Music was claimed for 5K. I'm now only 2/3 fill with 20 horses. I didn't get a chance to hit the claimers because I am away.

Time to regroup, and hope my 2yo like turf...

Not a great week for me either...a second and a couple of thirds from 8 starts...Bee stacking went pretty good on his debut though going 90 and getting second....Poor old Pepi,I don't know whats happened to him...13sp! ugh!!..Injured i guess or threw the rider(hope it's the latter)...

Picked up 4 claims this week...Explosive miner,American car,Voyage grimacing(all cab31) and Mars can(cab)..Mars can cost me 13.5k and 5bp's...I hope i can get it back!!...

Ironic enough, my cheapest 2yo Broke Night runs a 68. Vague Whisper runs a 59. My two most expensive can't break 40. Oh well. All 4 of them came back "Needs Rest". Is this normal for homebreads after week 1? I had planned to give them a month off anyway.

JKaye -- Wow. Congrats! You now have the fastest 2yo in Gurupie land.

Yes, it's not unusual for 2yo's to come back Needs Rest. Mine have either come back LAYOFF! (DANG IT) or Needs Rest. One (Snow Storm) did come back "Little Groggy" and he bounced back quickly from his initial race.

In general, I've noticed that a 2yo's second race tends to be a bit slower than their first. Very strange. But after that, they improve. An exception would be if the first race was very slow for whatever reason (like a speed horse running out of gas).

Ferocious Fletch broke his/her maiden in FTO -- mid 50 speed at 8f on turf. It appears that Grape Tree Road prefers turf.

My homebred Gurupie Rankings:
1) Broke Night (1-0-1-0, 5K) 72 MAD.
2) Snow Storm (2-0-1-0, $4K) 65 MAD.
3) Ferocious Fletch (1-1-0-0, $6K) 64 MAD.
4) A lot of horses about the same. . .

Note: I don't know how well MAD ratings apply to 2 yo's. . .

Yup...Pepi is injured...Out for a 6-8 weeks i guess....To make matters worse,my claimer, Mars can, also came back as "lay off" after the cpu put him in a 11f race when making his dedut as a 3yo...

What is the best way to treat injured horses?...The way i see it ,if you leave the "train for" option blank it is supposedly going to train your horse for the next available race...which means a horse is never going to get full, complete rest....The only other option i can see is to train it for 8-10 weeks in advance or whatever time you think it may recover...

cab -- leave the train-for blank until the horse gets to "Little Groggy".

I've read from knowledgable people that the train-for week option doesn't work for more than 5 weeks out, anyway. It hasn't made any difference.

Sorry to hear about Pepi. At least he's not a tag runner.

Yeah. The only other option is to dump him in the auction without a reservation price . . .
