Hey all. I can't believe the start of another season is
already coming up. What's going on with SW? I can't
seem to access the Premiership pages. Are they not
running it? If there is going to be SW soccer, then
maybe we can use this thread to discuss the upcoming
season, etc. I haven't kept up with the goings-on in the
off-season, except that the rich appear to be getting
richer and Dai's Reds beat Man U in the Charity Shield.
I'm sure someone out there has a more insightful take
on the upcoming season. ;-)

Hi Bubba, I am accessing the SW pages all the time and the SW Premier League does not seem to be up yet, they are leaving it very late if they are going to run this game this year. On the Sporting News site they have the status of the game as COMING SOON but how soon are they going to leave it ? I have still not had my money from last season yet !!

As for the forthcoming season, I am looking at the Mighty Pool carrying on from last year and making a good push for the title, they have the players to do it.

It gave me great satisfaction to see them beat Man Utd...... AGAIN....... in the Charity Shield, I will never get bored of seeing Alex Ferguson when they lose, ha ha !! I love it !! I am looking to Owen to really break out this year, look for 30+ goals in the Premiership this year I think, he is on fire. Just hope he stays injury-free. The new signing, Riise, looks like a great buy too and they have signed the 19 year old Czezh starlet, Milan Baros so the future looks good, the future is RED...... MERSEY RED !!! ;)

I don't think that Owen is going to score 30+ goals in premier league this season. Houllier will rotate strikes now that Liverpool FC is in the Champions League(ok, not yet, but Haka has to win 0-6 at Anfield to drop LFC..:). Maybe 20+ goals..

-you'll never walk alone-

Hi Guys.Disappointing SW/tsn haven't got their act together, but not surprising given that I too am still waiting for last season's prize money. No mention of Fantasy anymore on Planet Football, who were SW's European partner site last year.
Busy week getting a few teams together for the pay and play games run by newspapers here.
Very difficult season for fantasy,Bubba, with the squad system prevalent.Ferguson is implying 2 different teams.A Europe/big games 4-3-2-1 with van Nistelroy backed by Giggs and Scholes and the familiar 4-4-2 with Yorke/Cole for low life opposition.
Owen won't get 30.Golden Boot:Kevin Phillips-22.
Player of the season:Harry Kewell, who will make Leeds Man U's closest challengers even with Bowyer banged up.Relegated:Bolton,West Ham,Southampton.
England under 21s were good last night.Let's hope for a repeat from the seniors tonight.

manchester will play like that:

-------------niestelrooy-------------
--------veron-----------------------
-giggs-----------------scholes-------
----------------------------beckham-
---------------kean----------------
neville---------??????---------neville-
---------------stam-----------------
-------------_______----------------
------------/barthez\---------------

classic 4-5-1 with veron running the game, just like zidan in the french national team.

td,we'll differ on that.On the basis of the game v Celtic Veron will not be that far advanced.Butt deputised for him on Sunday playing alongside Keane and Beckham.I think Silvestre is the big game left back.Brown should be centre back.I think Sir Alec prefers Gary at right back whereas Sven-G favours Phil.Confusing,eh?

............and they will still lose to the Mighty Mersey Reds !! muwhaahhaahahahahahah !!

Just messing with you guys, I personally could not give a s**t about how Man Utd are going to play.

Leeds may be good for a Top 5 but no way will they be there at the end IMHO. Great team but they are a few years off yet, they are not as far along the path as Liverpool and they are a bit short at the moment too.

Gutted that there is not going to be a SW Premier League game this year, after finishing 3rd last year I was looking to win it this year, ah well, that's SW for you.

PS Phillips ???!!! You have gotta be s**tting me !

It's a shame there isn't a SW game this year. I had fun
in last year's game, despite the many glitches, and
enjoyed the small community on these boards. Is
anyone playing a similar fantasy soccer game? Or does
anyone know of a good free fantasy game, Premier or
Euro?

Bubba,I haven't found a good free one.If you run to £5 I think the most interesting and involving could be the Telegraph on-line game(www.tffo.co.uk).
You buy a squad of 18 and navigate through the fixture list. There are limited transfers too.
