All,
I have received an e-mail from the Sporting News today to CONFIRM that the SW Premier League is coming at last !! BUT, it will not launch until 29/09/2001 !!
Here is what the e-mail said :
ULTIMATE FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE - gooooooaaaal! The real Premier League season is under way but our fantasy Premier League season begins on 9/29! We'll be launching the best fantasy soccer game on the Web soon, so stay tuned!
Better than nothing I suppose but it is going to be run this year after all. Maybe this could be a good thread to use for people to submit their e-mail addresses and I will then send an e-mail out to all those when I have setup a division ? |

Let's hope we are paid professionals by then,Dai. 29/9 is the due back date for Berger and Dunn, whose early injuries have wrecked my domestic fantasy endeavours.I'll need a new start. What's with this double dose of televised Liverpool this weekend? El Tel

Has anyone noticed that the soccer option has disappeared from the Smallworld team options? Are we sure that these guys are going to come through with a game?

I have noticed that is has been removed from the Sporting News site and the link has been disabled on the Smallworld site, this does not look good and I cannot believe they would cancel the game without even letting us know and also after sending out an UNEXPECTED mail to tell us it was happening.
I have still not had my prize from last season yet and I am getting annoyed at all of this.

Promize and Co:
WE have a mandate this year to focus on games that are part of the TSN's core business, and TSN isn't soccer driven. I LOVE the premiership, and would like nothing less than to do a great Premiership game, but without significant sponsorship or a great distribution partner, there's no way we can do this game.

Sweet, I cant wait. I went to the Liverpool-Barcelona game in April for Semifinals. Liverpool won 1-0 & eventually won the cup.

this new tsn people really sucks......how can they cancel a soccer game?? don't they know that there will be the world cup this year?? and how can they be so thief to not give the prizes to dai??....i'm loosing my fait in this site, and i think i'll move to better owned sites, even if with worst games to play. Honesty in front of all, and people from tsn seems to be all but honest, judging from the dai's situation.

Calm down,Irri.I have received my prize now and I am sure on that basis that Dai has or is about to too.I think you have to take Erik at face value and hope that they can find European distribution partners for the unique SW format and run a pay game with prizes for all. Now,what have you done to Jaap Stam? El Tel

Lazio:
Dai and others have received their prizes.
And as I said before, we have to focus on games that are economically viable as a US-company. If we were based in Europe, and able to cut deals with the important calcio-powers-that-be, we'd do it -- trust me. I love calcio, and I could tell you a dozen reasons why Bati-Totti-Samuel and company will crush your beloved Lazio, but we just can't build these games without getting some help. It's the bottom-line truth.

erik b., me and my friends don't ask anything better than help you: take a tour on this site www.fantafoot.com it's a fantasy soccer site, maybe the best in his range, and it's all made by us, a group of friends, without any economic help. You'll understand how we could be helpful to you if you decide to have a partnership with us......let me know.

Lazio:
It's not a bad site for a Lazio tifoso. Actually, it's very, very cool. The challenge is to figure out a way to get people to pay if we put marketing muscle behind it. For now, we don't have an obvious way of doing so...
