Anybody play this? I just got the demo, seems like a blast. It seems to be the whole game, just with only one scenario, 4 English games in a quickstart. Anybody know if I can get any more out of it for free or what retail store might carry it in the states?

Doesn't seem to be available in the States, EA. Here's a link to a review of the game.

I have played (and still playing) all the CM games since 97/98, and you are right, it's a blast. The fun is never over in this game.

About the demo, it's like the regular game, only you have to play a quickstart (I think you can download quickstarts for other leagues too), and only untill around January. Then the demo stops, and it tells you to buy the game.

Beezer this review is for 99-00 season... There has been 2 more versions since then...

Try this site if you want more information about the game.

I've been playing different versions of CM on and off for
the past few years. I agree, it's a blast. It's the only
computer game that's kept my interest for more than a
couple of months. With so many different leagues and
teams, the replay value is tremendous--all the player
ratings and stats to keep a Gurupie happily occupied. I
bought them from the publisher of the Mac version
(feral.co.uk) and they were delivered here to
Massachusetts without a problem. I'm not sure where
you can pick up a PC version, though. Best of luck.

Doh! Thanks for the info tduncan. I'd pick this up myself, but then I'd really never get out of the house...

Awesome game. I've been into it since 1996, now it's almost perfect.

yes, but the REAL BLAST is a game called "pc calcio".....believe me if i tell you that you have to decide almost everything, from the players market, to the strategy&lineup, to the ticket's price, to the stadium's ampliation, to the number of sandwiches, pizzas and cokes to sell in the shops inside the stadium.....oh, and if you want you can play the games in the arcade mode......trust me, if CM is a 8 pc calcio is a 10.....no way.

We knew you didn't understand much of fantasy sports, now we know that you don't even know anything about pc games :))
I think it's more realistic, for a "manager" (in the way they intend it in England) to have full control of tactics, training and market, I can't care less about sandwiches! :PPP
I played both games, and I left PC Calcio after 1 month, while I'm still playing CM after years.

oh, well mist, i don't even think you know about pc games too....;-)
pcc's databases are greatly bigger than cm's, the graphic is really better and if you don't care about sandwiches you just need to set the options, specifying that you just want to set lineup, tactics and training. Plus it's quickly, and has more and more options to set the game as you really want to play it.....pcc all the way!!!

Bigger database? On the last CM there were about 100.000 players, and I've read that it's an all time record...

I've been playing CM for about three months now - I picked it up after reading some great reviews and it has not disappointed. I enjoy soccer but don't really follow it so its been a learning experience.

I took Nottingham Forest to promotion in my second season but learned a harsh lesson about the 'Minimum Release' losing 2 of my top 3 players in the off-season. Will be battling relegation all year.

WARNING - not for addictive personalities!

What is the minimum release?

It's a clause on some players' contracts: if someone pays an amount of money equal or higher than the one estabilished by the clause, you can't refuse the offer and the player leaves your team for a low price.

well, if you like managing not only the team, but the entire organization, pc calcio is far better, because you can build your stadium, you can put shops in it, you can decide the tickets price, and the price for almost everything sold in it. even the graphic is far better, and if you want you can play the games in arcade mode.....
