They're big, they're black, they are beating France.
I'm sure that France will make a goal in the final minutes but who cares, I got my first damn assist from Diouf! :)

ditto, Senegal pulls the Shocker 1-0. Diouf was a pest in the France defense, and just enough defending of their own to get the victory.

Wow, what a sweet way to start a World Cup.

What does JCS think about this?
3-0, uh? :P

Hahaa, what a great way to get the action going! 1-0, all I could ever have hoped for! An assist for me too (Diouf), and close-but-not-quite by Fadiga and Henry.

well, senegal won thanks to their phisical skills.
they deserved to win because of france extremely slow action. Every high ball was captured by african's defenders and france hasn't been able to verticalize a single time his action.
I even don't think that diouf will be credited of an assist, because if you look to the action petit tried to clear the ball after diouf's cross, and kicked it on barthez. Than diop scored on the lucky rebound. No way, it isn't an assist.

I think that it will be considered an assist.
Remember that TSN is american, so they don't understand a thing about soccer (joking :)).

They're big, they're black. Now that's a description if ever I've heard one.

now france will need to beat uruguay and denmark, or they'll probably be out......mmmmmm......and if they don't win their round they'll face, i don't remember who, but one between argentina or brasil after the 1st round......well they deserved it, because they made my 25 bucks bet toilet paper.....

Why didn't TSN give points for shots on goal?

Never been a big soccer fan (although its big in St. Louis), enjoy watching the World Cup though. Question, what does CAPS stand for or mean? I think I spelled that right...

We did. But there weren't many SOG. Trezeguet had 4 shots, but none of them were on target. (Hitting the post doesn't count.)

Official scoring -- a Shot-On-Goal is one that is heading for the back of the net; something that must be stopped or it's a goal.

CAPS stands for how many times a palyer steps on the field for his country. You get a cap for world cup games, friendlys, qualifiers, and other random national team tourneys (Copa America, Conderations CUp, etc.)

Legoland, methinks you try too hard.In olden times players were awarded a cap(a real cap you could wear on your head) for representing their country at soccer(and other games like cricket favoured in soccer lands).CAP=Appearance, nowadays.Swapped shirts have replaced Caps as the currency of international appearances.Quaint that the old nomenclature has stuck.
