i wanted to start a thread for all us soccer fans/fanatics who arose at 5am to watch the usa defeat portugal. this thread is for all of us who have been waiting for four years to show the rest of the soccer world that we can play on their level. the us national team may not have the skill level of the elite national teams, but our athleticism and SPEED can enable us to advance deep into this tournament and perhaps pull off an upset greater than that of the 1980 usa olympic hockey team. GO USA!!!!!!!!

I also got up at 5 to watch that game. What a game, very happy I did!! But what are we supposed to do with the next game? get up at 2:30 to watch it? I still have to work all day. What is everyone else going to do?

Hey, it's like that for us NHL and NBA-fans all the time here!!! ;)

But seriously, the timing of the matches really sucks for you guys... anyway, should be a good match against South-Korea.

Of course you could try the european way and not go to work if there's an interesting match in telly... ;) How practical this tip is depends of course on a number of things, such as your position and acting-skills (you have to come across as an honest, miserable, flu-fighting employee when you call them in the morning.

So will we see that huge shocker today? Croatia 3 - Italy 2? I'd love to see that.
