Does anybody have a list of players who will not be able to play in this next round?

Of particular interest are Brazil, Spain, Mexico, Japan, Italy and Sweden

As IL says, only Cannavaro (Italy) out of Coyotes teams is out on the basis of two yellow cards.

Roberto Carlos (BRA) has a slight calf-injury but is almost certain to play in their next match. Jon Dahl Tomasson (DEN) strained his groin, severity of this injury is still unknown. Freddie Ljungberg (SWE) has nursed a mysterious hip-injury for quite some time already... wether he will play or not, it will be a game-time decision on sunday. These from the top of my head, there might be more.

No players are going to miss the next round due to cards. The following guys all enter the quarter-finals with the burden of one yellow card:

Baumann GER
Schneider GER
Ballack GER

Mills ENG

Coly SEN
Thiaw SEN

Hierro SPA
Juanfran SPA
Baraja SPA

Pope USA
Mastroeni USA
Wolff USA
Berhalter USA
Friedel USA

R. Carlos BRA

Alpay TUR
Ergün TUR
Sükür TUR

Choi Jin-Cheul SKR
Kim Tae-Young SKR
Lee Chun-Soo SKR
Song Chong-Gug SKR

England's Michael Owen (groin) and Paul Scholes (foot) have both been nursing minor injuries but are expected to participate in tomorrow's training and play on friday. Owen Hargreaves is expected to be back in the line-up, putting Trevor Sinclair back on the bench. Metzelder (GER) is back in full condition and is expected to appear on the starting line-up against USA. Böhme (GER) will be sidelined for the rest of the tournament. Kim Tae-Young (SKR) sustained a broken nose and isn't likely to play against Spain. His teammate Kim Nam-Il twisted his ankle and is also questionable. Raul (SPA) Has missed training for three consecutive days and remains as questionable for saturday's game. He has been nursing a sore groin. Spain's Albelda is expected to miss the next game due to and inflammated testicle (Ouch!).

Great stuff,Samuli, but adopting my position as Sven's alter ego,I'm sure Fat-Bum Trev will start and Hargreaves will be a 90 min sub.In fact Trev will score our goal from a 60 yd pass inside Cafu from Beckham;-)

Aahh, what a sweet scenario right there, is this 100% confirmed by your guts? ;) Actually, Sinclair has been their most pleasant surprise so far (perhaps together with Ashley Cole)... Had his shot from the corner-flag went in against Nigeria, that whould surely have been among the 5 sweetest goals in the World Cup ever. GO Eng-er-land GO!!!

I also think Sinclair will/should start. His speed, power and work rate will be quite useful for the English tomorrow. My prediction is that Owen will score 2 on Brazil, Scholes will score 1 (the odds are 21 - 1 that Scholes will score, wish betting was legal here), and either Campbell or Ferdinand will score the fourth. I am predicting (no hoping) that England wins 4-2.

Ha, 4-2!! We are talking about a freakin' quarterfinal here, not a charity game for the good of war veterans or anything like that! Anyway, we'll see about that, I'll gladly take that kind of a result... ;)
