England vs Brazil 1-1 at the end of the 1st half. As I said, I think that England's gonna win, even if I don't hope it :)

Refereeing controversy No.8.No way was that red-and that's from an Englishman. No sooner does Blatter say the refs are useless than this guy proves it.

Is that the same ref who sent off Henry v. Uruguay? Looks like it, I can't hear the volume here to see if they said that.

Oh well....the dream is over for 40m Englanders.....real life can resume...disappointing how toothless we were against 10 men.

Well, Ronaldinho did step on the English player's ankle for a split second too long. It could have been a serious injury.

Sorry Tel !

I had a real good feelin' 'bout your boys this time ! they had this kind of "easy 'n effortless" slippin through which is the tm of a champion-in-waiting !

Anyway it would be sweeter for You to end 40 years of dreamin' on "enemy" territory !

btw I agree on your "toothless" remark, that was not the way an English side goes down. Where was the offense for heavens sake !
Red Card was a tough call, but depending on the angle of replay it looked anything from very unlucky to really careless (from the Brazilians view) ! Controversial call, but not necessary a bad one, give the ref a break here !

Ha, what a joke that call was! It was well clear that Ronaldinho touched the ball first, after which Mills kicked Ronaldinho's foot and went down. I really hope they'll video-check this one and take away the one game suspension. This is not the outcome I wanted to see, though, but as it is I think Brazil would deserve to reach for the Cup with the best possible squad.

Man what happened to England? Was it the afternoon sun? Was it the inexperieance (24 years old average age)? Either way, my (our for some of us) boys did not like they thought they could win this. Nevermind the possession - as everyone and their mother knew that Brazil would possess it more 0 - but the heart didn't seem there today.

In the two games when they let up a goal - Brazil and Sweden - after the goals were scored, it looked like they lost confidence in their abilities. Up one man and simply booting it to the corner? Needless to say I wasn't happy with the performance. Certain players did not step today - Mills and Scholes in particular. England should gain from this World Cup and challenge for the Euro 2004 and WC 2006 titles.
