0 Subject: World Cup Tickets On Sale...

Just to let everyone know that the first round of tickets goes on sale tonight, and will be on sale until March 31st, 2005.

Essentially you get entered into a lottery for tickets, and don't need to be on right when they start selling them as long as you get in by March 31st you're good.

I'm planning on heading down there with quite a few of my friends, as I have German Citzenship and was just wondering if anyone has plans to head up there to see the best Tournament in sports.

For anyone looking for info heres the link to the Official Website

I put in for the quarter finals game in Frankfurt.I spend 2 years in the Frankfurt area, and I wanted to go back and visit. I also wanted to surprise an old friend in France who loves the game, but I was forced to call her to ask her for her passport #. I found that part a little over the top.

Did you have to do that for your friend's tickets Twarpy? I thought about putting in a fake #, but didn't want any problems.

Do I get anything for having American citizenship? I would like to come over and see the US play someone. And drink a Diebels Alt. And eat my weight in Haribo gummi candy.

Maybe I should plan a trip.

I guess you can go to the Official Website and look for Team Specific Tickets (TST).

Yes, I guess so.

The US team should be pretty good in the next World Cup. Look out if we ever get to host one again. We may just win it with homefield advantage. Final four in 2002, baby!

"A million applicants have requested in excess of ten million 2006 FIFA World Cup™ match tickets in the first sales phase, according to preliminary figures released today. [...] As expected, the number of requests far exceeded the 812,000 tickets on offer. The tickets will now be allocated by ballot on 15 April."

Good luck to all who requested tickets.
