For some reason, there was a blank subject showing up on the forum topics page. It was annoying me so here's another subject to alleviate the problem. |

People keep placing cell phone adds in the Soccer forum. As if you can use a cell phone while playing soccer.

I almost did the same thing earlier, BH. Yes, it does scare me that we often think alike.

Let's not deviate from the topic at hand. Soccer is a great sport. The best part of it is reading the boxscores in the morning paper: Player | Goals | Landon Donovan | 0 | Cobi Jones | 0 | Freddy Adu | 0 | Claudio Reyna | 0 | DeMarcus Beasley | 0 |

Canadian sports recap shows do some of the important English games (e.g. Manchester/Liverpool last week). I love the English accent on these commentators.
Pushing/shoving incidents between groups of 3 or 4 players on each side are referred to in English soccer as "a little argy-bargy".

I enjoyed the World Cup in 06.
The one problem with soccer for me is that the talent is so spread out and there isn't one dominant league. The World Cup is really THE soccer competition, and I wish they'd get rid of all the leagues and just have the World Cup become the soccer competition each year.
That's just my opinion.

Yeah the problem is the EPL and other leagues would never miss out on revenue to host it every year, the players that are on the National Teams have a very demanding schedule especially if they are on a top team that also plays Champions League, FA Cup etc, as was seen by the amount that Beckham had to fly back for England qualifying.

I'd rank soccer just below kickball and firmly above tether ball.
