The scoring for Tuesday looks a complete shambles again.I looked at Clarke,Beckham and Sherwood. All wrong-the latter 2 each an assist short on the evidence of my viewing. The Sunderland scorer Arca gets 65,no score for a goal by a defender. This is so disappointing.

You are sharp! I just looked at Beckham's points, saw that it was a nice high number and assumed it was correct.

Doesn't Smallworld get its stats from Planet Football? (at least that's what it says at the bottom of the game pages) Maybe it's their fault.

Bubba,a company called Opta was set up about 3 years ago, with ex-coach Don Howe involved. They hired a team of analysts to look at videos of every Premier game and produce statistics for the performance of each player. There are far more stats available than SW is using.Carling, the Premier's main sponsors, got involved and widespread use is made of the data by a number of newspapers crediting the Carling Opta Index.Apart from a poor game in The London Evening Standard, this is the first fantasy game I've seen using Opta. Most other games use a combination of goals, assists, appearances, clean sheets, which are easily derived. That's why this game is potentially so good.I've no idea about Planet Football's involvement with Opta, beyond using them as a supplier of these unique stats.

A third SW self imposed deadline of 5-00 UK time goes by and still the midweek stats aren't fixed. No repricing on Sunday either. The Commish continues to make bullish noises over at the SW message boards.I fear this game is beyond them and quite possibly irrevocably flawed already. We'll see,but this sucks and there's only so much you can check when the stats aren't in the public domain.
