Stam missed the midweek Champions League win over Anderlecht and played only half of last Saturday's game against Sunderland before limping off to start a week of treatment on his right achilles heel. There could also be changes up front, with Ferguson ready to rotate his strike force and that could see Dwight Yorke and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer starting with Andy Cole and Teddy Sheringham moving to the bench. Portuguese defender Abel Xavier is in danger of missing out for Everton after suffering a recurrence of a knee injury in the victory against Middlesbrough. Alessandro Pistone is struggling with a hamstring strain while Mark Pembridge continues to be troubled with a calf problem. Richard Dunne is available again after a five-match suspension, as are Michael Ball and David Unsworth. Dodd has been struggling with a foot injury for the last 10 days, while Le Tissier has been out for two weeks with a dead leg. Both proved their fitness for the reserves in midweek and may return. Striker Kevin Davies is still three weeks away from recovering from a cracked toe and veteran defender Francis Benali remains on the sidelines with a broken leg.
Barton suffered a groin injury in training and is likely to be out for six weeks, while midfielder Lee is yet to shake off a thigh problem. Striker Carl Cort should travel after battling against a hamstring injury and young defender Steve Caldwell and midfielder Des Hamilton are included in a nineteen-man squad.

Radebe joins a worrying casualty list for O'Leary as he is also without Harry Kewell, Jason Wilcox, Jonathan Woodgate, Eirik Bakke, David Batty and Dominic Matteo, while Mark Viduka is on Olympic duty with Australia.
Ipswich Town will leave last season's leading scorer David Johnson on the bench. Marcus Stewart, signed from Huddersfield last season for £2.75m, is preferred in the starting line-up. Sunderland v Derby Sunderland boss Peter Reid has refused to rule out a return for goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen for the visit of Derby County to the Stadium of Light. Sorensen was back in full training for the first time today and could replace Jurgen Macho. Apart from the Danish `keeper, Reid's long injury list has showed no signs of clearing this week. Stefan Schwarz, Gavin McCann, Stanislav Varga, Alex Rae, Steve Bould, Michael Reddy, George McCartney, Milton Nunez and Paul Butler are all still sidelined. Argentinian defender Horacio Carbonari is set for his first start of the season for Derby following a groin operation.
But wing back Rory Delap is sidelined for the match at Sunderland after suffering a recurrence of an Achilles injury in the 2-2 draw against Charlton. Derby are again without Branko Strupar (groin injury), Darryl Powell (hernia), Lars Bohinen (knee) and Craig Burley (calf). Charlton Athletic v Spurs Ramon Vega looks set for his first start of the season to solve a defensive injury crisis for Tottenham at Charlton. Swiss international Vega, who turned down a move to Celtic last month, is needed at The Valley because Chris Perry is still out with a broken toe and Luke Young, who deputised in Monday's 1-0 win over West Ham, picked up a foot injury that will sideline him for three weeks.
Charlton boss Alan Curbishley will hope Jonatan Johansson will move further towards full fitness after his starring role in the draw at Derby.
Aston Villa v Bradford Winger David Ginola will start only his second game of the season when Aston Villa meet Bradford City. The Frenchman played for an hour in a midweek reserve game to boost his match fitness after a back injury. He takes over in attack from Luc Nilis who will miss the rest of the season after breaking his leg against Ipswich last weekend.
Bradford will travel to Aston Villa without Andy Myers, who tore a hamstring in the 1-1 draw with Arsenal last week. Second-choice keeper Gary Walsh has joined Middlesbrough on a month's loan. Andy O'Brien (broken collar-bone), Jamie Lawrence (side) and Dean Saunders (knee) are all missing while Lee Sharpe is a doubt with a heel injury. Arsenal v Coventry City Gordon Strachan could name an unchanged team to face Arsenal at Highbury. The Coventry manager looks set to resist the temptation to bring in strikers John Aloisi and Ysrael Zuniga, who have both been in good form for the reserves. Colin Hendry could again be left out of the final 16 after so far playing just the first game of the season. Dennis Bergkamp, who refuses to fly to away matches, is set to return after shaking off a thigh strain alongside Thierry Henry.
However, Arsenal are still without £7million newcomer Lauren, who scored Cameroon's winning goal in the opening Olympic Games match this week. And skipper Tony Adams looks like being saved for next Wednesday's clash with Donetsk as his sprained ankle has not completely healed.
