Subject: Message Board Team (what week is it now?)

Hi everyone. With the holidays, end-of-year rush, and start-of-year rush keeping me busy (and a new Christmas present and timewaster, aka Sega Dreamcast), I'm back after a long absence. I've barely had time to manage my teams, let alone post anything half-way intelligent. I agree with El Tel in another post that this board is "a ghost town." So let's liven it up a bit.
Inter Guru currently looks like this:
Barthez
Venus Bramble Melchiot G. Neville
Keane Vieira Beckham Dyer
Kanoute Hasselbaink
SWP: 16507 Div Rank: 8 World Rank: 5147 out of 119725 Transfers Remaining: 27 SWŁ Remaining: 6,900,000 Lineup Value: 68,010,000 SWŁ
As you can see, I've made a few changes since last month, in response to suspensions, etc. Sheringham and Henry are today's top money gainers, maybe we swap Hasselbaink for one of them (although I thought Thierry had ankle problems or something?). Other than that I can't think of any other specifics yet. Oh yeah, I'd like to pick up Desailly again while his price is low.
I do like the following teams' matchups for the next week or so: MAN U.--13-01 Bradford (a), 20-01 Aston Villa (h), 31-01 Sunderland (a) LEEDS--13-01 Manchester City (a), 20-01 Newcastle (h), 24-01 Aston Villa (a), 31-01 Coventry (h) I think only Leeds and Villa have an extra league match in two weeks, but Villa's schedule is tough, with Liverpool, Man U., and Leeds up next.
Just my 2˘ worth. Any other thoughts anyone? |

I forgot to mention that I also like Arsenal, who play Chelsea (at home v. a poor away team), Leicester (possibly still w/o a healthy Flowers), and Bradford (at home v. the league bottom feeders).

This team is in fine shape,Bubba. There is a case for drifting into Leeds/Villa players, but I respect your reservations about Villa schedule.Mind you,Barry looked really good in his temporary midfield role in the cup.I vote Venus to Ferdinand. My quest for a scorer has landed on Boksic,so he's jinxed.I'll leave the decision on Melchiot/Jimmy to Silvinho/Thierry to others.Tough call. I just read the BBC's match previews. Seems like my picks Henry (won't start?) and Desailly (dead leg) aren't so good. Melchiot is ready to return. Sheringham is set to start for Man U. Venus' status (bruised thigh) is unclear.
I've decided I like Venus->Ferdinand (nice suggestion, El Tel) and Kanoute->Sheringham for this week. Any objections or other suggestions?

Wenger will have to start Henry if he wants goals v Chelsea.Wiltord and Bergkamp may have mustered a solitary goal against Carlisle but that won't get them into the Champion's League. El Tel

Hi guys. Taking a break from the hoops boards. Too many smarta__es and dumba__es:). Anyway I also went to Ferdinand and Hyppia (sp?). Also have Henry and Kanoute as strikers so if you have any more news before early deadline tmw let me know.

I wish Henry was a certain starter so I could pick him up on my team. Maybe in his absence Wiltord will do well (differentiation pick?) I also wish I knew who is playing alongside Sheringham up front, I have a feeling Bradford is in for another long day. I suppose I needn't worry, Hasselbaink has scored against Arsenal in each of his past five Premiership meetings with them (info from BBC). BTW the full match previews are up. Hopefully not much will change from these come tomorrow.

Just popped in to see how things are going over here. You might be interested to know that both of the two best Arsenal sites have Henry starting: Arseweb Arsenal-World
