Man, I also watched the USA-Brazil game. They played without Rivaldo (one of their best strikers), in front of a decidedly pro-American crowd and still managed to beat us. The score was 2-1, but if you watched the game, you saw that the United States is still 5 or 10 years away from competing with the big boys. Assuming, of course, that our improvement continues. We may very well plateau before we get there. If you consider how many of this country's best athletes go into other pro-sports, I am amazed we are as good as we are, though. | |||||
