0 Subject: Incomplete Stats ???

All,

We have all noticed the stats have been missing or messed up all week. It seems SW cannot cope with more than 1 round of soccer games in a week but can cope with 7 days of hoops ???? Anyway, on the SW Premier League site it says that the stats are now correct and they apologise for the inconvenience !! The only problem is that they have included SWPs for games on Monday but they have not included the stats for games played on Saturday yet !! Anybody else notice this ? Have they just 'forgot' about these stats ! 4 weeks to go and SW seem to be trying their best to mess things up................

I noticed that as well, but nothing ever surprises me with Smallworld. Maybe they're having more of a problem these days, given their business woes. Hopefully they'll have correct points updated sometime soon.

Hey Bubba, good to see a friendly face around the boards, this place is deserted !!

I seem to be dragging your team towards the Top 10 ;) Hopefully you can get your team up there, I wonder what will happen if my 2 teams finish in the Top 10 ? 2 TVs ? ;) I will be surprised with 1 prize the way SW are going.

Let's just hope they update the stats soon.

Dai,I think it's not just Sat.Didn't Super Leeds,my bankers for that week, give your Liverpool a bit of a drubbing on Good Friday.Happiness as Rio heads home Harte's corner.
Mucho SWPs expected.I think Stallworld is beyond a Joke(see Hoops 34All thread).Much as I love their free game formats,I'm not putting in this level of effort in the future.Still if it's all pay games now and we Brits are disenfranchised, that will look after itself.

El Tel, SWPs for Friday ARE included in all teams totals, the only SWPs missing are for Saturday. Check each individual Leeds player and you will see that they have SWPs for the Liverpool game.

SW need to get their act together, I want my TV !!

Dai--

You can't win 2 prizes, so I wouldn't expect more than one TV. But, I WOULD expect one TV. Just also expect them to take a lifetime to get it to you.

Wait, I just realized something: you can only win if you live in the U.S., I think. I am pretty sure about this rule. Do you live here?

MC, that is not the rule, I made sure of that a couple of weeks ago. It would be pretty stupid for only residents in the US to win when the game is based on UK soccer, here is what it says at Small World :

"1. ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible to win a prize, Game entrants must be 18 years of age or older and a legal resident of the United Kingdom, the United States (excluding Florida) or Canada (excluding Quebec). Excluded entrants who are otherwise eligible but are between the ages of 13 and 17 years of age may play the Game, but WILL NOT be eligible to win or receive any prizes."

I do not see an issue with me living in UK, also, I don't see anything in the rules to say that you cannot win 2 prizes ?

Dai-the rule Motley refers to is the usual rule concerning prize eligibility. SW obviously changed that for the soccer game since, as you said, it is based on UK soccer.

As far as two prizes, don't count on it. The rule with every other SW game is that if you have more than one team the highest ranking team determines your prize. Otherwise KB (and others), would be taking home the prizes for their multiple teams.

And that happened to me last year in baseball. I had four top 50 teams and the highest ranking team got the prize. And people outside the top 100 were given prizes when the persons with multiple teams were excluded except for their highest ranked team.

Cheers Rich, I can always count on you to ruin my dream of 2 TVs !! he he !! Just messing with u. Seriously, cheers for that, I may have a chance of a Small World Hoops T-Shirt then, currently 140 WWR, I am sure there must be 40 teams which are multiple teams in the Top 100 ? Anyway, never mind, 1 TV will do me just fine, I just hope that they can get the prize to me, IF I finish in the Top 10 in the soccer.

Sorry for the confusion, Dai. VI got my point--I have never seen a SW game that awards prizes outside of the US. Sorry about that.

Hey all. Nice to see some activity around here. I'm confused: what's up with the scoring? Is it true that we're only waiting for Saturday's SWP? I need a new update, I got hosed on the last one!--I dropped from 15th to 20th in less than 24 hrs :-(

P.S. I hope there'll be even half this much discussion for this week's upcoming installment of "Message Board Team"!

Will try to contribute Bubba. I'm expecting a bath since I was off on business last week and couldn't make any trades.

Motley-didn't you get a check instead of a tv? Dai was wondering about that.

Good luck Dai!!!

As I understand it, we are only missing stats for games played on Saturday, 14th April. All other games have been accounted for.

I dropped from 2nd to 3rd WWR after the games played on Tuesday, mostly because of a whopping -42 SWP from Richard Rufus !! Ha Ha !! Must be a record !! The most important thing to me is that I am over 1,000 SWPs ahead of 10th and 1,300 SWPs ahead of 11th so it looks pretty good to get a finish in the Top 10, 10th is as good as 2nd but I want that 2nd spot !! ;)

Anyway, I have sent e-mails to Small World to try and get them to input the stats, I don't know whether anyone else wants to do the same, don't know how much it will help.

I really do hope that they run this again next year, I am sure they will be more efficient as this was the first year that they run the SW Premier League, we will have to start a division next year.

PS El Tel is on for a high Top 10 finish too, good luck ET !!

Dai,
Are you sure that the points from between 9th and 13th April have been included in roster/team totals. I know the points are completely missing for last Sat, but the other earlier ones seem to be missing too.
I Know that when i check up, say 10th April(last Tue),
eg the link for my team when i'm logged in would be: http://premierleague.smallworld.com/main/official_team.html?table_id=34&date=10-APR-01
I can see my teams totals for that day, but does anyone have a quick way to check that these points have been added to the team total, unfortunately I hadn't been keeping track of what the points were before the mess, I have a rough idea but am not sure, so unless I go back all the way through the season(which is possible but really tedious), I can't double check my score. I don't suppose anybody had a division tracker like in Hoops, where the info would be easily checked, and could confirm that the points were added. I do think that the points are actually missing for those days.
I am currently at 27WWR, and 1000pts outside of 10th, but who knows what might happen?
I too have emailed Smallworld, but just through their PremierLeague site. Does anybody remember the name of the Marketing Director person whose email was given out on the other boards, or we could try going to Don Mathis:), and asking him about the "soccer" game.
If anybody has any info, it would be great to hear.

Kieran, I am positive that the scores have been included for the 9th and 13th. I have been checking the site regularly and my teams totals did change, I am positive of that and I kept track of my scores before the mess up and it all seems to be in order. We are only missing 14th games now. Anybody else out there with proof otherwise ? I am sure that this is correct though. The days totals are not shown in the stats breakdown but they have been added.

I have already sent an e-mail to Don Mathis too, see if that does anything to speed up the recovery.

1,000 SWPs in 4 weeks ? Could be a tough call but it is possible. Good luck.

Dai,
That is fair enough so.
About the prizes, it is unlikely, but i can dream, i suppose. There may be a few unexpectedly rested players with other things (FA Cup/Champions league) being considered more important and with United having already won the leaguea, that may help if I can get lucky.

All stats are now up to date !! All stats are available in the Stats Breakdown, the wrong players are shown for some reason but the scores add up correctly. Bad news for you El Tel, it seems that you have dropped out of the Top 10 ! Bad scores from Saturday for you but I am sure you will be back where you belong by the end of the season. The Top Managers list is not yet update at 1:00am UK Time but I am sure it will be soon !

SW get there in the end !!

OUCH! That hurts,Dai.10 players produce 10 mediocre scores for a mere 554.Bang goes my 500 point cushion in one hit.Looks like I've got a bigger managerial crisis than my man John Beck.Have to work on the motivational stuff since I'm lumbered with a lot of those dummies again this week.Don't give up Kieran-one lucky mid field hattie and you're there.

I know, I want you to finish in the Top 10 too !! I think what went wrong was the midfield, guys like Poyet, Lampard and Hendrie were widely held in the Top 10 and you didn't have any of them, nasty !! All it needs is for you to pick another good midfield performance and you will be back up, come on ET !!
