Hey everyone. Here's how Inter Guru looks going into
this weekend's matches.

James

Desailly
Hyypia
Babbel
Henchoz

Holland
Lampard
Poyet
Merson

Wiltord
Hasselbaink

SWP: 31250
Div Rank: 6
World Rank: 566 out of 143859
Transfers Remaining: 10
SWŁ Remaining: 200,000
Lineup Value: 68,550,000 SWŁ

"Extra" games this week are Bradford-Liverpool and
Newcastle-Southampton. The usual cast of Liverpool
players is tempting, just remember Gerrard is
suspended for a match and Heskey might not be fit
(shin) for the first match. Westerveld and Owen are
probably my surest picks right now; for midfield, any
of Hamann, McAllister and Berger would be good.
For Newcastle, Solano is suspended for two matches.

Any thoughts anyone? El Tel, Sigh, VIDevilRays, Dai,
Motley Crue, Roo, Kieran...

Those 10 trades are a real boon,Bubba. The way I see it Liverpool have 2 2-game weeks before they are off for their week of 2 Cup Finals. And that means 8 more trades before they need replacing. That means 7 of our non-liv players could go red.I fear for Chelsea at Leeds and wonder if Jimmy will even make it to halftime, with the fans baiting him.I'd vote Westerveldt,Berger,Hamaan,Mcallister and Heskey in as a minimum and pass on the issue of the Chelsea trio with their 1-2 schedule to others.
I had a cathartic soccer experience in the pouring rain at Brentford on Wednesday night. My mighty Cambridge United are struggling for Div 2 survival. When we went 2 down with 6 mins to go, things were bleak. But the 800 of us penned in the away section just sang even louder and made more noise.Snatched a draw and a potentially life-saving point with the last header of the game.Marvelous!
Cheers,
El Tel

Loaded up on Liverpool. Henchoz, Mac, Wester, Heskey, Hyppia, etc. Bubba-can't find any news on Gerrard. Is he banned for this match?

Guys, Gerrard is banned for the Coventry game on Saturday but available for all the other games. I personally think that it is a bit risky, unless you have loads of trades, to load up on Liverpool players because they change the team around so much. Westerveld, Babbel, Henchoz, Carragher and Hyypia are locks in defence but the rest are lottery picks. Heskey is doubtful for the game tomorrow too so I expect them to go with Fowler and Owen. Also, it is very unlikely that guys such as Heskey, McAllister, Berger, Hamann, Fowler and Owen will play in all 4 games over the next few weeks, this is the dilemma that I have with my team and so I think I may just go for the players who are certain to play in defence and pick Newcastle, Chelsea and Bradford players to fill the Midfield and Attack roles, you have more chance of them playing all the games then IMHO. If you have trades then you can just pick your team for each week, no need to plan ahead. Just my thoughts.

Good thoughts Dai. Think I will trade Heskey and Gerrard to others-maybe Cort and ? I do have 11 trades left!

Teamtalk says Heskey is recovered, and from what I've seen lately he is a vital component of Liverpool's counter attacking away strategy.Berger is fresh and a Houlier fave. The rest is a lottery I agree but they all tend to get time with substitutions.I wish I had a trade to go Jimmy 'subbed at halftime at home'Floyd to Heskey, but I don't.Prediction:Newcastle will at long last get a clean sheet in one of their 2 games this week.

If I had to pick 1 Liverpool midfielder then I would go with Berger, the rest IMHO are a lottery. Heskey may be recovered but will Houllier risk him with such an important time of the season coming up ? Only he knows the answer but I think we could see Fowler and Owen. As for Hasselbaink, he is going to Leeds tomorrow and he may just shut up a few people, I am in two minds as to what to do with him yet, could go to Carbone who has been putting up great SWPs even when he does not score, great sked till the end of the season too. A sleeper defender could be O'Brien for Newcastle, looks a solid pick IMHO.

Cort is a must this week IMHO VI, he is going in both my teams as Newcastle play no defence Leicester and Southampton and he is in great form, serious, I would go with him until the end of the season, actually, I am, pending injuries !! :)

Great !! Good to see that someone does listen to me, I know the girlfriend doesn't, but that is another story altogether ;)

Anyway, I hope you all select some great players this week, my faves for this week look like Carbone, Jess, Cort, O'Brien and Speed. Happy shooting !!

VID,couldn't mislead a Bellyite. The issue is whom to pair with Cort-Hasselbaink,Heskey or A.N.Other.Cort is the board bargain this week and has done my lightweight teams proud the past 2 weeks.BUT,if I didn't already have him and had trades coming out of my ears...................

Thanks El Tel. I'm at 189 wwr now so risks are warranted. And I have a ton of trades. Think I went with Carbone(Striker?). Didn't trust either Hasselbaink or Heskey. Good luck!

Bubba, no worries about O'Brien, has been looking a solid buy and kept a clean sheet today against Leicester too !

VI, what did I tell u about Cort ? Great buy he is ! he left it till the last minute of the game but scored that goal ! Also, the way he plays he should have put a few shots on target too, should be good for some nice SWPs too.

I was wrong about Heskey but he did not score and was substituted. The 'pool won though so I am happy !

Was in 2 minds about Hasselbaink and was going to go to Carbone on my first team, glad I did in a way cos Carbone missed a penalty, I would have been gutted if I had him !! Just hope that Jimmy puts a few goals past Everton next weekend to warrant me keeping him !!

Not long left in the season now, hope we can play this game next year.
