Did anyone hear about how a group is going to try to buy the expos from Major League Baseball, and then move them to Puerto Rico? Personally I don't think it will happen. But what does everyone else thing?

Would this mean the Expos will stay in the MLB and other teams would have to travel all that way just to play?

I'm assuming that. Another reason why I don't think it will happen. But hey teams will be getting multiple vacations each season. I would still like to see them move to Washington and play there...

It's actually not very far - It'd be a shorter plane ride for many Eastern divsion teams than a West Coast trip, for example.

If they go that route, it wouldn't happen before 2004/2005. Alot of work to be done on that stadium I'd imagine.

Still, I think its a market that has alot more potential than adding another team to the Washington/Baltimore area.

You mean we might actually be moving towards a "World" Series? :)

PR makes more sense that Montreal anyway. Compare:

1. Motreal - They don't speak English
PR - They don't speak English

Well a tie there..

2. Montreal - Visiting teams have to go through customs
PR - No customs. Joints can stay hidden securly in shaving kit, just like other road trips.

Advantage PR

3. Montreal - They don't like baseball. In fact, don't know they have a team.
PR - Rabid love of baseball and provide some of the leagues best players.

Advantage PR

Montreal - cold and wet in the Spring ans Fall.
PR - Warm gulf breezes and tan, beautiful women.

Advantage PR

No contest, IMHO.

Rogue - what a clueless comment. Have you ever been to the DC/Baltimore area? Stick to what you know, bro.
