Subject: OT - TV Input

  Posted by: THK - [2510332316] Wed, Jun 21, 2006, 16:19

Ok. I am trying to hookup my playstation 2 for my newphew who is visiting tomorrow. The TV is an older one where you can't use input cables. However, I have the playstation/TV adaptor where you connect the cable through the cord and into the playstation. It is hooked up exactly like it should be. I turn it to channel 3 of 4. Just normal cable. There is no input button or button to change from regular television. Has anyone encountered a similar problem? Does anybody know how to change the input without the button? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
THK

My only thought would be to look into getting an rf modulator. That is what I had to do with my x-box, since my old tv doesn't have red yellow white compatability

Is there an on-screen menu? maybe you can change it there.

I have an old VCR that I have connected to an older TV up at the cottage. With the VCR hooked up through the cable, I can hook up the PS to the AV hook-ups on the front of the VCR.

1) Like post 8 says, see if you have an on-screen menu with an auxiliary-in option.
or
2) Make sure you have a game in and then turn the PS2 on once it is hooked up. You might have already tried this, but I used to have an old TV downstairs with a sega hooked up to it and it would only show up with a game in.

I realize this post is probably a little late. Maybe your nephew showed up and figured it out.
