Subject: Interesting Comparisons...

On a boring December day 49 days before Pitchers and Catchers report...

2007 Stats:

Player A:
650 ABs, .288/.331/.485/.816, 26 2Bs, 6 3Bs, 30 HRs, 94 RBI, 107 Runs, 33 BBs, 109 Ks

Player B:
645 ABs, .288/.316/.408/.724, 38 2Bs, 0 3Bs, 13 HRs, 93 RBI, 65 Runs, 26 BBs, 127 Ks

Player C:
642 ABs, .293/.338/.444/.782, 40 2Bs, 0 3Bs, 19 HRs, 95 RBI, 84 Runs, 42 BBs, 129 Ks

Player D:
637 ABs, .300/.362/.485/.847, 43 2Bs, 3 3Bs, 23 HRs, 112 RBI, 97 Runs, 61 BBs, 112 Ks

Player E:
643 ABs, .297/.354/.498/.852, 43 2Bs, 7 3Bs, 24 HRs, 85 RBI, 114 Runs, 55 BBs, 103 Ks

Player F:
584 ABs, .315/.355/.466/.821, 37 2Bs, 9 3Bs, 11 HRs, 80 RBI, 93 Runs, 32 BBs, 112 Ks

Without looking up their player pages, answer the following...

1.) Which players were All-Stars?
2.) Which player won a Gold Glove?
3.) Which player was just traded for a supposedly "can't miss" young Pitcher?
4.) Given their ages out of order, which player would you perceive to have the highest upside...26, 23, 26, 24, 22, 26...and can you match the age with the player WITHOUT being given their names?

Just how much do these numbers really mean?

Thats tricky cause some of those numbers are great for a 2B/SS but not that impressive for a random OF. I do tend to think that K's go down with age... so if I was playing the match the age game -
A) 24
B) 22
C) 23
D) 26
E) 26
F) 26

Based on the K's and knowing you are a Braves fan, I can deduce that B or C is Franceour. And I think its C cause he has more power than only 13 HR's.

I think F is Cano because of the lack of walks... though that goes against my 26 yr old theory since he is younger I think.

I think player A is 26 and just barely missed out on ROY this year.

we still have 2 unidentifieds. (I'm 100% sure of A & B and about 95% sure of E & F). Any clue who C&D are?

Including Crawford's league-leading 50 steals significantly improves his line and his worth.
