Subject: Opening Day Action

Can't believe I got to start the opening day thread 3 hours after the first pitch:

Verlander and the Tigers going into extra innings vs the lowly Royals

Yankees/Jays rained out

Big Thome with 2 2-run homers

Sizermore, M. Cabrera E. Byrnes with home runs

Crawford and Brian Roberts w/ sb

Alex Gordon also has gone long for KC.

Inge is looking like a great super-sub (real ball, not fantasy), gunning out a guy at home from CF in the 11th

What got into Thome...he is not supposed to hit lefties and CC is one of the better ones...

Zambrano and Sheets both pitching gems in Chicago...2 hitter and a 1 hitter...in the 6th.

Good sign seeing Zambrano sharp early in the season.

Fukudome starts his ML career strong...2-2 and a BB...led spring training in walks w/15...could be a very good option on OB% leagues...

I beched Sheets on two teams today, having been burned by early-season bad weather days at Wrigley before and figuring he might still need a few starts to straighten out after getting pounded all spring, including last Thursday.

Too bad you can't pick up guys for half or third-games. Hendrickson was cruising until the 4th, then the bottom fell out.

When will managers learn not to use closers in non-save situations...

Wood less than stellar in his closing debut (there's a fun oxymoron for you).

I have Flash Gordon and Kerry Wood on all my teams. I guess I should have gone day late and missed out on the trades.
