is Barry Zito.
I actually feel sorry for Giants fans. I think most fans knew this was a bad signing when it happened. But now they have to pay him to blow leads the Giants may have earned (as opposed to just letting them fall behind from the first inning). |

Just think if he had signed with the Yankee's and this was happening for him.

They should have done what Pittsburgh did with Matt Morris and just let him go.

The funniest thing is, or maybe saddest thing, was there anyone would DIDN'T see this happening when he signed that big deal?

To get technical, Mo Rivera is actually slightly higher paid this year.
Zito has been very pedestrian the last couple of years, and most believed he would get worse before he got better. But this bad? An ERA over 7, a WHIP at nearly 2, a .336 BAA, and more walks than strikeouts to go along with his 0-6 record. Absolutely pathetic.

Well um, technically we can add up the contracts of Carl Pavano and a post-LA Kevin Brown? Isn't that about the same?

I never saw this happening. I saw a lot of 10 win 11 loss seasons with a 4.58 era but this season has been pretty bad.

Difference is that Pavano didn't play.

Maybe Zito should try that, it might help the Giants win a game. But then again, i dont like the Giants so id rather see him stay as a starter just to see what his final numbers would be.
