Subject: 2009 rankings

Anyone aware of any early 2009 player rankings? ESPN did some around the end of the season but that's the only one I've seen.

Also, same question for 2009 player projections. I know fangraphs has the Bill James projections up but again, those are the only I've seen.

Mine is a keeper league and I'm just curious to see some early rankings/projections. Thanks in advance.

ESPN just put out some 2009 reliever rankings. It's a good list and there's a lot of additional commentary on each team. The top 15:

1. Jonathan Papelbon, Red Sox
2. Joe Nathan, Twins
3. Mariano Rivera, Yankees
4. Brad Lidge, Phillies
5. Francisco Rodriguez, Mets
6. Carlos Marmol, Cubs
7. Joakim Soria, Royals
8. Bobby Jenks, White Sox
9. B.J. Ryan, Blue Jays
10. Jose Valverde, Astros
11. Jonathan Broxton, Dodgers
12. Jose Arredondo, Angels
13. Kerry Wood, Indians
14. Francisco Cordero, Reds
15. Matt Capps, Pirates

Jenks and Cordero are probably too high; Arredondo Broxton, and B.J. Ryan are probably too low.

Your thoughts?

Sorry for not replying BH. I don't follow closer stuff too much (just get the full scoop days before I draft) because I don't prioritize it too much when I draft.

I've seen some magazines out with 2009 projections and -- after briefly flipping through them at a convenience store -- I have to say they're not worth much. The rankings were fairly absurd IMO, and the content was stuff we already know.

Anyone got a beat on any decent material out there on the web?
