Subject: ARODs injury and the draft

  Posted by: pelagic league - [4116249] Sun, Mar 08, 2009, 10:43

Where do you all think this puts AROD in upcoming drafts. 2nd round? or is he still worth a 1st round gamble? I fear his hip flaring up oe since this surgery is not designed to fix the problem just make it so he can play most of 2009. That makes it a tough call in my eyes.

If he is still available for my 2nd pick do I take him? I seem to hedge on NO!

What are your thoughts?

Any early drafts out thee with some "early" data on peoples' moves regarding AROD?

Sounds like he'll be out till June with this surgery (9 weeks) That's almost a third of the season if six weeks call it a fouth. He's got to drop some.

I've seen him going most often in the third round the last few days...

Fantasy experts on ESPN said they would go 5th round at the earliest and they probably wont ever get him because someone will reach for him in the 4th.

At mockdraftcentral.com, he's been the 14th overall pick for 5x5 leagues (300 drafts since March 6)

His latest pick in any of those drafts was #32

ESPN's commentary assumes a 10 round draft, by the way, which is smaller than our normal 12 and much smaller than RIBC (which has different categories anyway).

He went in the second round in RIBC AAA IL, and I'd have taken him with my second pick if he hadn't been taken (and I heard others say the same).

Depends on the league, is it h2h or rotisserie? I would say for h2h
the drop wouldn't be as big (early to mid second round) because
he's still around when it really matters (the fantasy playoffs). For
rotisserie, I would say the fall would be bigger, maybe late third
early fourth round.

First year H2H keeper league draft coming up...I've got the 4th pick...unless Hanley, Reyes or Wright are available I'm thinking I'll take ARod. Anyone think thats a bad idea?
