Rotowire is reporting Adenhart was in an accident and was killed last night. Reporting from TMZ, but nothing on ESPN or MLB.com. Anyone hearing this? |

Heard it on WEEI (Boston).
Angels' Adenhart dead in crash 8:31 AM | April 9, 2009 Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart was among the three people killed in a crash in Fullerton when a driver ran a red light, an associate of the rookie player said this morning. The crash occurred hours after the 22-year-old appeared in Wednesday night's Angels game.

Sometimes I'm really appalled at how fragile life is.

Didn't know much about him, but the fact that he was only 22 is a punch in the gut.

The jerk that ran the red light and killed 3 (or 4? story wasn't clear it seems to be a driver and 3 passengers all dead?) fled the scene. They at least caught the guy.
Very sad day for his family to see such a young guy with so much promise be taken.

Wow, the starting rotation for the Angels is now far beyond being cursed. What did they do to anger the baseball gods so?
Extremely sad.

Wierd, I was flipping through the channels last night and caught an inning of the angels game, and saw him pitch. Then I hear this news. Crazy how things can change in a moment.

4 people were in the car and one is still in critical condition. I think this was only his 4th start in the majors. First start of the season and his father was in the stands to see him throw 6 scoreless innings.
The ealry reports are the guy ran a red light at 80 MPH while driving drunk on a suspended license. If true he should never be allowed on the streets again.

The 4th person has now passed away also. Yeah they said that he already had DUI's and had his license taken away.

Hope that makes a guy like Joba realize his mistake was pretty serious. Figures the moron who was drunk survives and nobody else does.

Any news on the other 3 in the car? Were they family, friends? I'm assuming they are not ballplayers or else their names would also have been in the news.
