Can't figure this one out. Local newspaper had a category in their box score: RA

We can't figure out what it means. My coworker emailed the sports editor who responded with, "I don't remember seeing it, but it must be Runs allowed."

Can't be. It lists hitters (or perhaps fielders). The one t hat caught my co-workers eye was for Tam/KC (which was 11-1 tam). Longoria, Upton and another's name was listed under RA. So it can't be runs allowed.

I'm thinking some kind of an assist? Can't find anything on line.

I thought of that, too and it may be it. But Tampa Bay had 11 runs but only 3 people listed.
And it was just the last names. Not like if you have an rbi and list how many total you have, too.

could be though.

when I look at the play-by-play it may be a fielders choice (= runners advanced = RA ?). the 3rd one was Bartlett.

Looks like Runners advanced is the answer we were looking for. Though it seems to be a narrow definition (like youngroman indicates). Advancing a runner with a hit wouldn't count. But a sac fly/bunt or fielders choice would.

Thank you all.
