Crazy to me but if there is a market for this stuff, more power to them.
The Marlins are selling unused tickets from last Saturday's perfect game for face value on their website. Tickets range from $14 to $325.
You can buy them here
If it does well, maybe the Marlins could start up a whole new business plan and get no-hit more often. Other hurting clubs could follow suit. |

I don't think they'll go up in value. Just cause there are so many of them. If you have an unused ticket from Superbowl 3 ,that may be worth something. Or the miracle on ice. Not this.

I bet they sell out......first time in how many years? I also bet that they will be selling them on E-Bay for a loss. File this one under the "Sucker born every minute" rule.

The problem is they are selling the tickets at their face value. So if you want the $120 seat, you are still paying that much for the "souvenir".
It would make much more sense to just sell them all at one flat rate.

Realistically, the infrastructure is already in place to sell tickets, so listing/selling them has very little to no cost. That means that even if they sell one ticket, they've made more money than if they didn't. Good idea for the Marlins, in my opinion.
As for a ticket purchaser... well, that's another story.

Well, remarkably I must admit, I had been in attendance at each of the previous 19 perfect games and have the ticket stubs to prove it. Thanks to the Marlins, I can claim I was at all twenty, now.
Crystal ball is in the shop, the loaner ain't working.

Reading one of the stories about it, it says that the WSox did it last year after Mark's.

Maybe if they put as much effort into marketing upcoming games as the do past ones, their won't be as many tickets left over.

idk could be worth it. I have seen signed Buehrle tickets floating around for a lot more than face value. Get the ticket signed...stick in a nice frame with a photo from the game and all of a sudden you are probably charging a few hundred bucks in Philly.
I would probably buy the cheap seats...do not think tickets from better location seats will have any increased value.

Maybe I'm a little late with my comment but it seems to me that the Marlins are just a tad disingenuous about this whole marketing ploy. I could understand it if it was your team that threw the perfect game but to make money because your own guys sucked.....well, that's just not right. If I were the Marlin players, I'd be P.O.'d big time!

I'd be pretty pissed if I was at the game or I had a ticket and didn't show. Way to f over your loyal fans that actually would like to sell their tickets for a profit.
