Hey there all...

Planning a trip to Vancouver in August, and notice that the Jays are playing in Seattle at the same time. Does anyone know of any bus tours that take Vancouverites to Mariners games? Or...does anyone here actually live in Vancouver?

Take the train. It's faster and beautiful, I just don't know if you can take it down and back in one day, I highly doubt it. The good news is that Union Station is right next to Safeco, couldn't be easier. And customs is a breeze on the train, rolling customs!

it's been several years, but i took the MORNING train from Seattle to Vancouver, and it was amazing, as much of the trip the train rain along the coast.

at the time, the morning train was the only one that did that, and the rest had connecting bus service - but that may have changed.

in fact, i actually stayed with SZ (and was amazingly hungover after 40 straight hours of drinking) the night before i took the train. it was a fun trip.

Interesting. What is crossing the border like there? I know here it takes a little bit depending on the time of day and if its a holiday.

How much waiting would I be doing driving over at around 10:00 am on a Monday?

That last post was an inquiry on driving time.

I just checked the train as well and see that the last train back is too early. Unless we spend the night in a hotel, which is a possibility too.

I went through the border on that drive, waited maybe 10 minutes in line and they just asked where I was going, looked at our passports and waved us on through.

Interesting you should ask. ;)

Basically it sounds like the train from Vancouver to Seattle is a breeze. After that, I dunno.

Ok, so definitely less than the Niagara/Detroit/Sarnia borders here then. Good to know.

I will see if I can priceline a rental car for $15, if not I will take a look at the train!
