Dang! i tried to add Ibanez three times today but was told that he was still on waivers. I am living in Cairo which is 9 hours ahead of pacific time. It appears that when i get up in the morning I am still on the previous day as far as yahoo is concerned. I the last time I tried adding him was around 10 am Cairo time. Does anyone know how I can find out when my days switch? Is there a standard time that yahoo goes by? I tried searching the help but found nothing...

Wow. Not a good first week. I could be in for a quick trip back to AAA.

I hear ya, mjd. I've got both of them in a H2H league that uses quality starts, not wins, so I was really looking forward to that match-up. Time to write this week off.

I love my QS league. Nothing worse then a bullpen blow up to kill a chance for the elusive W.
Unfortunitely it's not practical to do in a deep league format.

The pickup of Andy Pettitte by Smith & 9th was reversed. Pettitte was drafted by Vampire Weekend, who was given a placeholder (Zumaya) until Pettitte was available.
I added back the player dropped by Smith & 9th when Pettitte was added.
If anyone can figure out what the waiver priority of Smith & 9th was at that time, I can reset it.

no need to change the waiver priority - Pettitte has been available as a free agent for at least 2 weeks, and I picked up him without making a waiver claim. I totally forgot he'd been drafted.

Wanted to get your opinions on a trade in AA. Bryce Harper for Albert Pujols. I know RIBC is usually hands off but should this trade be allowed to go through?

In a keeper league, maybe (though that's still pretty aggressive)
In a AA (non-keeper) league? I'd probably torpedo that one.

PermDude sent me the offer of Pujols for Harper and I took a day to consider it before accepting. I felt it was a tough call because Pujols is hitting the Mendoza line right now and Harper is on fire. I think by season's end their stats may be pretty much even. I really like Harper and had him listed on the Trading Block as untouchable, but in the end, I simply didn't have a 1B. I do think this is a fun trade and makes for a great baseball discussion as one could definitely debate both sides.

Pujols is almost certainly going to come around, but Harper looks like the real deal and I can use the stats now. Trotting Pujols out there every day has probably cost me a couple of places in the standings all by himself!
I'm also a bit lucky that I can plug LaHair into the 1B slot when Pujols moves.

You say that but do you mean it? I'll trade you any 1 player on my roster, excluding Weaver and Cabrera, for Pujols.
McCann, Freemen, Chris Davis, Allen Craig, BJ Upton, Morrow, Lance Lynn, Lincecum(lol), Samadzija, Kelly Johnson all are up for grabs. Surely one of those guys is worth more to you than a guy that isn't even hitting above the Mendoza line.

How is it you're willing to trade those players for Pujols when I have Pujols and two of those other guys?
BTW Pujols is now the worst player on my team OPS-wise, and I have 5 positions with a sub .600 OPS.

I certainly don't have the strongest claim to badluck this year (Nerfherders, though Pujols is coming around) but my pitching has been either really good or very bad. In 3 select starts from Burnett, Morrow and Beckett, they've allowed a staggering 25 runs in 5.2 innings. There's also the 5 earned runs that were added to Morrow w/o him throwing a pitch when a clear error was officially switched to a hit a week after a start.
With the original error, and w/o those 3 starts, my team ERA would be about 3.05. Yes, I understand that if anyone takes their 3 worst starts out, their numbers will look much better, but can anyone beat 3 starts producing 25 earned runs in 5.2 innings? Ugh.

Looking to shake things up with a trade or 2.
I'm certainly not dealing from a position of much strength, but I do have SP.

Sadly it's not just Pujols, it's everyone. As great as my draft was last year where I cruised to first in AAA, this draft is my worst ever. The crazy thing is I don't think anyone would have complained about having my team going into the season. It's not like I made crazy picks, and the riskiest of my picks have actually worked out (Chipper, Furcal). It's been better this month, but April was so ridiculously bad that I don't think I can even get enough points to get second place.
My g20 team is better than this one, and the best player on that team is Andre Ethier.

I'm getting some offers for hard luck Cliff Lee. No wins, but 66Ks, 2.92 ERA and a 1.01 WHIP in 64.2 IP and only 11 free passes.
Anyone else with an offer? I'm looking for a closer and help with my hitting percentages.

Hey guru
Quick question: how are ties handled for invites next year? I'm only asking because right now we have a 3 way tie for 10th with the potential for a 5 way tie (3 of us tied at 73, one at 74 and one at 74.5).

I just noticed that tilt is leading the RIBC and had drafted out of the first position.
I found that interesting because I am co-leading the RIBC-AAA Yahoo and drafted out of the first position and I believe blue hen has a comfortable lead in RIBC-AAA ESPN having drafted out of the first position.

It has something to do with the #1 pick being Cabrera. I had the first draft choice and chose #3, and got Pujols. Not that Pujols has been bad, just not perhaps a top 3 pick this year. Probably has numbers of a #10-12.
