Yahoo baseball is opening January 30. This is a good 1-2 weeks before its opened in prior years. Just a heads up to everybody.
Guess I need to get the closer list going. |

It may have taken them a while, but they are coming around to the true state of fantasy baseball.

Guess, they didn't want to launch it early in the day...

Yahoos initial mock draft
Some of these are headscratchers to me and I didn't even get past the first round yet.

Here's some of my problems with their draft: round 1: Hanley ramirez pick 4. Sorry, not taking anybody with his injury history with a top 4 pick. Yes, one of these years he'll play 150 games and make an owner happy. But at that price tag, it wont be me.
Round 2: Puig - seems like a 2nd rd pick is based more on hype. There's a lot of questions about how he ended the season, how he'll hold up during the season and for a 2nd round pick frankly I'd like a few more years under the belt. Not convinced this is Trout 2.0 here.
Round 3: matt carpenter. Last year he was a late round steal for me in many leagues. This year I think he'll be an early round burn. Look at what contributed to his value: BA - he can do something about that and repeat 126 runs scored...thats wholly up to his teammates and I wouldn't bank on that again. He also is "only" 2nd/3rd eligible this year. 2nd base is not the wasteland of years past. Runs and Ba for a 3rd rounder w/ viable second basemen available 3, 4 or even 7 rounds later.
