Subject: New B101 H2H League

  Posted by: GO - [01020815] Tue, Feb 18, 2014, 11:06

I've been contemplating starting a new $50 or $100 Head to Head league under the 101 umbrella. Probably non-keeper... Would be Yahoo with daily (same-day) lineups.

If 10 people show interest here or via email we'll kick start it.

Would you consider making this a points league? If be up for that.

Auction would be awesome too.

I'm really up for exploring anything. I think the keys are I want to actually have some real money on the line during baseball season and I don't think I want keeper... so each team has a fresh start each year.

After saying this... I may just do one of these Yahoo $$$ Pro leagues for some serious cash. Has that always been around?

I'd much rather take strangers money instead of you guys anyway! :)

I am in 2 different H2H leagues, one is a points league and the other is a category league.

I love the points league, but admit I was very hesitant to join at first.

Our points league we only allow transactions on Sunday nights, and then its via blind bidding, and then rosters lock as of first game on Monday.

Our non-points league has a weekly 5 transaction limit which was added because two guys were spamming the waivers and building up cheap stats.

I definitely do love these style leagues and am surprised the folks here are so loyal to Roto style for baseball.

I love the H2H and needing some guy to get me a SB and 2 RBI in the Sunday night game with 3 categories in the balance.

So I think if this continues to evolve.... we'd need 10 teams. 3 candidates so far, and my brother will do it I'm sure so that's 4.

Yahoo
Non-keeper
100 bucks? (payout something like 700/200/100 so finish on the podium you break even at least)
Head to Head weekly matchup (cap maybe 7 moves per week to limit streaming).
Auction seems to be preferred so I'm cool with trying it but we'll vote it out.

If wg is in I will just send him my 100 now and we can avoid the torture of playing out the season

I'd be interested if it was a fast snake draft. That may not work though for everyone though.
Yahoo pro leagues take a rake.
If H2H, I'd recommend a payout to the regular season winner, and maybe 2nd place.

While I've never done an Auction draft... I think for this type (of what essentially is a Guru PRO league)that Auction style would be most fair and not the luck of the draw... cause even in snake there are slots where nobody wants to be. And in an Auction everyone gets a shot at everybody -- and its up to you to decide how to balance your squad.

"I may just do one of these Yahoo $$$ Pro leagues for some serious cash. Has that always been around?"

It's not a good deal as yahoo gets half the money. Better to keep the whole pot divided among the league.

I would be interested.

Would it be prize money for first second and third?

If not auction I would be less interested.

Only issue with me is the timing of draft since I live in Dubai.

Where do you see Yahoo gets half the money? I think they are doing 10%, no?

I thought it said $100 league, 12 teams and 600/360/140 payout.

Yep you are right. They have definitely changed it. I looked in past years and thought it was a rip off. Now it looks very fair.
