1. What was your plan/strategy entering the draft? Were you able to execute as you had planned?
In previous years, I tried to load up on studd SPs early. This year, instead I was hoping to grab 2-3 hitters prior to dipping into the SP pool. I was also hoping to draft RP heavy (4-5), as the ERA/WHIP/SAVE combo is always nice (I’ve done this historically).

I consider my INF+INF+OFF start to the draft a success, but unfortunately, beyond Hader, I just wasn’t finding enough value at the RP position until really late in the draft, and at that point I was taking shots on OFs.

Interestingly, despite going SP heavy (in comparison with other teams), I still only project out to just over 1,300 IPs. Considering we are capped at 1,250, and we all know injuries will happen to pitchers, it’ll be interesting to see how many of the teams are punting Wins and Ks, or maybe they plan on playing the wire for spot starts?

2. What were your favorite picks? What picks would you like to do over?
FAV
Tyler Glasnow I really was ecstatic to get him. I wasn’t expecting to get a studd SP, and was thinking I’d live in the mid-range pitchers. With the IL slot available, this was an easy pick for me.

Do-Over
none-yet

3. Looking over all of the teams, which ones do you like the most (other than your own)?
Da Bomb: I felt he started off the draft with a good foundation, and took appropriate shots later.
Holt: A lot of names I was considering/targeting.

4. What surprised you most about the draft?
The % of RPs drafted? I guess the extra round made people feel more comfortable going RP heavy.

5. If you could start the whole thing over, would you do anything differently?
Maybe try to prioritize getting a 2nd quality reliever?
