Subject: Yankees suck

With all their player poaching money, they are still facing not making the playoffs this year. Are they going to spend even more for a shot at a wildcard berth this year? It'll be headlines if they make an acquisition, it'll be headlines if they don't.

Hope all you misguided Yankee fans are enjoying this season as much as I am.

Turns out they were neither buyers or sellers but they got headlines because they basically did nothing. Cannot count the pick up of two bullpen mop up guys.

Misguided? I still have faith they can pick up ground and eek into a wildcard spot. Once in the tourney, I feel like every AL team has flaws, and although the Yankees would probably be the longest odds in the field, I'll take my chances :)

More realistically, they were not going to give away one of their prospects for a rental, and they were not going to dump just 3 out of the last spot for a future lottery ticket.

Guardians trades appear to be "mail it in" moves. McKenzie, Bieber and Quantril are all out with injury, but they are still hanging at the .500 mark. Seems they don't think they have a shot at overtaking MIN for the Central, who are just two games ahead. Even if they did, they would be the weakest team in the playoffs.

They shipped out Rosario, Civale and Bell for Syndergaard and prospects. You could argue that Bell and Rosario weren't productive anyway, but trading Civale is a classic punt on third down.

Oh well, Guardians in 2024!
