Just thought I'd start the thread up here. Also, I'll list the draft order. And Deepsnapper, gotta love that team name of yours.

Don't know if this is addressed at the Sandbox site or not but how many guys do we get to "keep" next year from this year's final roster?
I seem to recall last year that it was only around 4 or 5. If that is the case then that could affect our selections.

The draft is up and ready to go. Also, the above order is not the draft order. The following is: 1. The Burrill Clan 2. Now Batting -- Duane Kuiper 3. Your New Team #2106746 4. Bookie's Bad Boys 5. ksoze is who? 6. Staci's Stompers 7. Pfafftown Phenomz 8. Jessica's Boys 9. I Am The League Dumbass 10. Peter N. 11. Slosh23's Softball Sluggers 12. Cuban House of David

I'm getting sick of the second to last pick. I believe this is the third time now, I had the same pick in football and I was close to this last year in baseball I remember getting 2 picks at a time. All I want is a top 3 pick. Does sandbox have something against me?

Yeah, two picks in a row is nice. But then again, that means watching 22 picks go by before getting your 2 in -- and that's why first pick isn't all it's cracked up to be either.

Sorry about that guys and gals. I was going to do everything last night, but I totally forgot about it. I suppose I'm not in the baseball mood quite yet (might have to do with the fact that it is mysteriously snowing here.)
Unfortunately I'm gone every day this week from 8:30-5:30 PST with no computer access (lifeguard training) so I'll do my best with the auto picking...
Happy Drafting! Matt S

I am going to be gone until Sunday night so since I can't even go to automatic I guess we are stuck until I get back even after Eustacio picks unless Sandbox comes back up and he picks and my 24 hours elapses in which case someone will be taken from my 5 man queue. And I think 3 of the guys are all one position so I would hate to have 2 guys taken from the same position in a row.

Code, if you're really concerned about your queue, you could give your name and password to someone you trust here and we could make the alterations for you. Or perhaps you and Eus can figure out when he should pick (provided the site comes back up in our lifetime) so that 24 hours don't elapse before you get back.

Since Code Cracker's gone for awhile, I'm going to put my top guy in queue and let it run out. Then it waits 24 hours for Code Cracker and picks his guy, and I doubt it'll get back to him, but if *Jessica* can wait on her pick until after Code Cracker returns to set his queue, we can get back up before he leaves.

Sounds good to me. Do you guys think we'll finish this draft before the season starts? And what happens if we don't? Just curious - I've never cut it this close before.

I'm pretty sure we'll finish in time. After round 15 or so more people start going on Auto and stacking their queues up. No idea what happens if you don't finish though.

If we don't finish in time, it becomes a multi-list draft for the remainder. Which basically means you get the next best guy available that fits on your projected team needs.
We should definitely wait for CC to get back for Jess's second pick, but it's likely he'll have to auto this one....
We should be able to finish, provided we don't have too many Sandbox outages and no more 24 hour hiatuses after this one....

Sorry, my previous post was a bit spur of the moment. Anyway, maybe we can all get together tonight or maybe Monday or Tuesday evening to knock this thing out. I'll have deepsnapper make my picks during the day Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday(back to school for me) That way we won't get helded up by me being at school. Hopefully we can figure something out....

Make sure your queue is full at all times; if it goes auto on us it'll look to fill your open positions from the queue first.
I suspect that we'll pull it together and get the important middle rounds out off the way before then.

I should be able to check in at least once an hour, if not more often. If someone has everyone's email, maybe a mass mailing should be sent out to let everyone know (in Peter's panicked but appropriate words) that we're on the verge of getting screwed.
For my part, I'm going on auto now cause I've refilled my queue (and Bookie's right, Code will be back before my pick affects him.)

According to ksoze's post #106, we have until Wednesday at 2 PM ET to finish. That means we have to do approximately 12 rounds a day for today and tomorrow to finish. To me, that means we have to have everybody on autopick for most of the day. The morning activity has been minimal but we can't let this happen if we want to finish. Check your queue frequently and keep it refilled. Let the draft roll so we can finish...

After taking a couple of Boston players, I was starting to feel ill, so I grabbed Nick the Stick. Down to Peter N. we go.

I don't think J is here at all this week. I remember him saying something in another thread where he was looking for someone to watch a different draft league for the week.

I have picked, JW picked, I picked again.
Hmmm I guess Peter N is next, and seeing how he needs an OF. I'm suggesting Al Belle or Jose Canseco(and stay away from the starting pitchers).

Sandbox won't let me do anything today. I tried to put it on auto pick for 20 mins before I left. It obviously didn't work. Now I'm trying to make my pick, but every time I click "draft athelete" nothing happens...
Doesn't look good for finishing today... Matt S
