Restricted Free Agency Any contract that Expires in that year is now a RFA. Contract BUY OUTS ARE NOT RFAs. They are entered into FA Draft. RFA are entered into a Pool… RFA starts the 2nd Monday in January. By that Monday each player will email me 3 RFAs NOT on his team who he would bid on, I will have already submitted my players… you just have to trust me.
All players will be entered into a List, this list will be emailed out to owners THAT DAY. By that Wednesday you must submit your bids for all of those players. You can PASS, you can bid .5 you can bid up to your amount of dollas -1 for each FA you bid on. You need that to sign his contract. Don’t over bid your Dollas you do this all your bids are VOIDED for that period even if it was a high bid, he goes to next highest.
If there is a unique high bid, RFA owner has choice to match or pass… If he matches, he submits another RFA to be entered into bidding round. If he passes then the winning bidder submits another player to be bid on. If 2 or more owners bid the same amount on a player. That player is kept in RFA and the minimum bid on him is what the high bid amount was this last period.
For Example, Me and my friend Tony both bid 15.5 dollas on Chase Utley… Chase is kept on the RFA list and you must bid at least 15.5 on him. RFA last 5 weeks, you cannot submit your own players until week 5… In week 5, there will only be players left over from ties AND each owner may submit me 2 players from his team for the list… Other than that, no other new RFA will be bid on.
Monday List is sent out. Wednesday bids are due. Friday Match/Pass are due.
Once all bids are submitted for that week on Wednesday A spreadsheet of them will be posted. So we all know who is bidding on what, that way I don’t have an unfair advantage.
Also, RFA rights can be traded, RFA traded rights must be submitted before I submit the list of RFA for that week. Monday Noon EST will be the time.
After 5 weeks if there are players who have tied bids still, we bid just the Owners who had the high bids. Basically you tell me I bid, 25 dollas on Chase Utley. And the other guy tells me I bid 24 Dollas on Chase Utley, First owner gets him for that much, plus 1 for the contract. We do this every day until a contract is reached. As soon as all RFA that have been entered are signed, we draft the remainder of players who are not on teams in a FA draft. Starting with last place to 1st place straight draft. Until Rosters are full…
Those are the rules, you'll get reminder emails... |

You may submit your guys now I already have a few sets.
remember bids are not due with this email, just guys you want to submit into the RFA pool to be bid on in Week 1.

Great guys, all but 1 owner has them in... Fosten is who we are waiting on as usual. If he doesn't get his in, then we won't be getting bids from him this round... And he can submit his RFA next round.
I figure that's a better punishment than just dollas... 1:37 minutes until the list is complete... I'll send my email out shortly after that explaining the next part...
I have a dentist appt but will be available to check email from my phone if you need something before noon EST
thanks!

wow, i dont think i like it this way as much as the open auction. I am looking at 3 guys in the same position and only want 1 of them. It would be much easier to decide if I could see what was going on :)

He missed a deadline yes, but he reached out immediately after and I can appreciate that. I will not let this hold the league up...
As far as this being different from the open auction, yeah it is a bit different. I think some of you will be surprised it might help us save some dollas...
I am surprised that no one has traded rights to RFA yet...
I think it will be fun this way... hey if we dont like it we can always change it in the future...

Quick question... Do we get more dollas after FA? What if a team uses all of its dollas on RFA and FA and can't field a full squad? Is there a min on amount of players you much have?

After FA it's the draft to fill the rest of your team. One team could have say 10 guys and another 15, so the draft would be 5 rounds longer for the other guy.

Hey guys I'm glad you like the system, I was hoping it would be welcomed, I know tree doesn't like it too much cause 5 of his guys were up for bid, but then again he shouldn't let such valuable guys hit the market...
Just to clear up a few things... RFA is the only thing that costs Dollas from here until after the draft... So the dollas you have now you can use them all if you want.
The FA draft is free, you pick players and they are on your team as a 1 year contract... no cost to you...
After the FA draft we each get 20 dollas, this is used for this seasons moves, as well as if you want to upgrade some contracts of the FA and RFA... I'm thinking of changing the 2 year upgrade rule for RFA and FA... since they are already 1 year guys technically any upgrade would have to be at least 2 years making them a 3 year deal. But I think I might make it that you can upgrade any amount after you acquire a guy through RFA or FA draft as long as you stay below the Years Cap and have 12 guys set to expire at the end of the year...
Thoughts?
Noon is fast approaching, I have an appointment at 12 so I'll just send everything out when I get back...

Thanks to Goatlocker for getting his dues in plus a little extra to cover the PayPal fees :-)
Everyone ok with a slow FA draft on the board or do we want to use Kafenatid?
Oh and finally, I made a little snafu when resigning potential RFA, I allowed Ihatephilly to resign Brad Lidge for 2 years when filling his roster would of put his years at 51... Simply to correc this, lidge was resigned for only 1 year(since he was expiring this is ok) and his years cap will be correct... Also he was refunded the $2 extra that he was charged for the extra year.
I'll add the contact info, and the AIM stuff, let me know your opinion on the draft...
