Subject: User ID's and Passwords while in Internet Explorer

  Posted by: Richard - Dude [204252420] Sun, Mar 02, 2008, 23:49

One of our computers remembers user id and passwords while using Internet Explorer and the other doesn't. I can't for the life of me figure why one remembers and the other doesn't. We would like both computers to remember user ids/passwords but I can't find that option to turn it on. Any suggestions on where Microsoft has hidden that option?

Here's a reverse question regarding auto complete in Internet Explorer. Its a mystery to me.

When I start to type in the search bar it gives me the auto-complete suggestions of my search or an address... which is fine. But there are searches and sites listed on there that I haven't been to in years (i.e. Song2Play) and its still listed in the suggested web address auto complete dropdown.

I've cleared temporary internet, cookies, browsing history and then clear passwords/forms and that suggested site still shows up there.

A site I used yesterday doesn't show up... like everything has been successfully cleaned out - but that and couple other ones I haven't used in forever still hang on.
Now I can turn off Auto Complete to not see them anymore - but I like that feature, I just don't want it giving me suggestions for things I have no intention of using.

I think some sites are now listing other popular searches from other vistors to the site.

Some of the suggestions are kinda rude. Went look up Kurt Vonnegut on google a few days ago, and one of the search suggestions was "Kurt Vonnegut's bulge." Who the hell would search for that?

ROFL!

I guess I need to fess-up. Kurt Vonnegut's hot!

I didn't think their were that many others with the same fantasy, however.

The fact that he's dead makes it that much more exciting!

Its definitely a more specific thing than just a random search suggestion - like the Song2play suggestion has the actual page I was at (i.e. song2play/mitchhedberg) and there is one for Belk (the clothing store I guess? and the pages indicate that I was there trying to order a gift card - but that was like 2 Decembers ago...
