Is this basically a complete new upgrade? Trying to do this for my dads office computer, each time I put the CD in I get a message saying that the Home Edition is newer then the Professional Upgrade.. Doesn't make since?
Does this mean I gotta basically do a fresh install or something? Calling Windows is like a 40 minute wait on the phone...
Just trying to figure out what all I am gonna have to backup if it is a fresh install.

It is an upgrade version, I think I can use it, thing is, I think it basically will be a whole new install type thing. I just gotta boot from the CD.

did my xp pro install fresh from a full vers cd. In my exp with win95/win98, the upgrade versions arent worth a tinkers damn. Tried upgrading 95 to 98 with an upgrade vers some years ago and wound up spending more money then to buy the full vers cd of 98. (Have never known an upgrade OS version to be worth bothering with unless it was the same OS just a new edition as in win98 SE for ex.)
