The sad part is he'll probably only clear 10-15 grand of that a year. Of course, the guy is a 25 year old engineer so the money won't be much more than a nice Christmas present for him every year.

It maybe in Canadian dollars, but unlike the US it's completely tax free, so much like the "Who wants to be a millionaire, Canadian Edition" it's actually worth a lot more than if he had kicked it in the States.

Are you sh!tting me? Why wouldn't the Canadian Government levy taxes on prize winnings? Has it always been that way?

Can someone answer that last post? I am one click away from being a Canadian citizen. Do they have 401k plans for gamblers too?

That's right. No tax on lottery or gambling winnings (unless you are a professional gambler and it is your business).
Why? Well it wouldn't be very sporting, would it?

Damn I love Canada. No crime. Relaxed drug laws, no tax on winnings (which I just found out), and universal health care. Awesome.

No crime? Baitcar.com
My favorite video is the On Coming one where the guy is flipping out.
