We continue on...
As far as the poll goes for the Keeper dilemma, there is not a majority--as often happens when there are three choices. Two of our managers did not participate. Since it was on the site, it is annonymous and people can not change their vote.
Currently 8 of our 24 managers (1/3) wish to cut the Keepers from 9 to 8 immediately. 5 more want to cut the Keepers from 9 to 8 but not until after next year. 9 wish to keep them where they are. Nothing can be done because there is no mandate short of having a vote with only two choices. However, that can be tough as those 5 will be forced to not being able to vote to reduce keepers at all or be forced to do so immediately. One can read it like 13 want to reduce keepers or that 14 do not want to do it right now--both majorites. We are well past our halfway point on the year so forcing a vote may cause some people to vote for something they ultimately don't want. My guess is that we should wait until next year to vote and I'm one of the ones that voted we should change it immediately. |

I read it like this,
14 owners want 9 keepers for next year 13 owners want 8 keepers for 2007
Why can't we accomodate both majorities?

I'm not clear why there is the need for a revote, unless there is some reason that there might be people who would be in favour of reducing keepers starting next year, but against reducing keepers if the reduction can't come into effect until 2007.

I've said all along we should wait until before next year started before voting. That poll was just put up in lieu of a formal vote to see if a formal vote was needed.

Right. That discussion will be a good icebreaker for the 2006 preseason, as the vote will have to take place before any trades or keeper declarations.

I think I found all the adjustments. This week's games made the playoff teams a little more clearer...or did they? Just one team, my Colts have clinched their division. The (B)East the past three years, producing the League Champion every year is now reduced to just one representative for the playoffs--well that is unless bmd loses out and one of the 4-7 teams in the East win out and get in on a tiebreak. Unlikely, but possible.
A Huge win by thk and loss by CT has opened up the NFC North. If thk wins out, he will clinch his division. CT has scored a ton of points but lost five games. Call it bad luck. Call it inconsistency, but with all his points scored, all he needs is a tie to move on it seems as only StL Cards' 49ers have scored more.
In the AFC West, Both sw's Chiefs and Doug's Raiders have clinched a playoff spot but the division title and perhaps #1 seed is still up in the air. At this point, my Colts have the tiebreak if we tie, so unless Doug can gain a game on him, he can do no better than a 3rd seed. If sw wins out, he's got it.
The NFC South is stacked. Toral's Saints had a HUGE week to not only knock down a team they are chasing, but save their season with the win. Still has some work to do. AF's Falcons had to have this win as well. Neither can touch CT's points, but both are closing in on Pete's Cowboys and another loss by CT could end it for him. bj21's Rams have more points but still need wins as CT is only a game back. StL Cards' at 9-2 and a boatload of points haven't clinched the division, but another win with all those points will virtually assure him of that spot. In fact, it is highly unlikely he will not make the playoffs with all those points--even if he lost the last three games.
Toral got 10 to outclass us all in Pick'ems this week. Next closest was 8 right by several including Promize who still holds the slimmest of margins overall. Still anybody's title with a half dozen managers in the mix.
Congrats to StL Cards who unseats my '02 team in Most times Highest Points For the Week -- Season. He now has had the highest score for the week five times this year. He's also moving up on number of times hitting 100 points for season and overall and highest points for the week overall. He has been dominating this year and odds on favorite to take our plaque. But remember, it's head-to-head and one bad week could end it for you (or a great week by your opponent)!
Trade deadline is approaching. Remember you are required to have a player on your roster for one week before the playoffs arrive. So trading and add/drops will be turned off right before week 13. We are approaching week 12.

Only 5 teams in the entire league have over 800 points against. All are in the NFC; 4 of which are in the NFC North.
How Zona lost 5 games amazes me. His remaining schedule is pretty tough with AtL and StL, while I have Philly and a pretty solid Saints team. My playoff hopes and destiny are in my hands. Win 2 games and I can't be held out. CT's Cards needs help even for a WC, which is amazing. His game against StL will probably decide on the WC slots (assuming I win out).
Hopefully I can hold off. Can't believe I am 3rd ranked in points, with one of the toughest schedules, without Duece, and KJ playing like crap and my team is still in first in the division! Hopefully my team is built for a dynasty.
If anybody is interested in Duece I am completely open to offers, both for help this season, picks or future. Just seeing what kind of offers I get.

I sure wish #1 tiebreaker was H2H then I wouldn't have to worry about Zona, as I would have to lose both of my remaining games for him to even have a chance to pass me.
Looking back at my losses: My first 2 losses my opponents combined for 237 points. My 3rd loss I was defeated by 0.20 points in a so-so week for both teams. Then my latest lost I was missing Palmer and CJ.
Makes me pretty excited about my season, even without Duece. Hopefully the latest deal can have me competing for the title.

Well, thk, as bad as your first trade with Toral was this year, at least you got back some of it. I should have gotten a TON more for Priest or held onto him. But, I panicked.
Final reminder, Free Agent players will be locked out 5 mins before the games TOMORROW. Same for Pick'ems. You may still adjust lineups up to 5 mins. before that individual player's team plays if you have a spot to move him to (a player already played and locked into position). Nothing has changed, just reminding once again. I saw a few teams that still need to adjust their lineups.

Yea, looking back on that deal Toral took me pretty badly.
#5 overall wasn't much just like I thought. Stallworth isn't amounting to much like I thought. 1st round won't be much like I thought (with 4 O studs already).
Steve Smith was just a stud that I didn't expect him to be and KJ has honestly just flopped so far. I still think he will turn it around and with a base of Palmer, KJ, CJ and Smith that won't change for years...I should be a contending force with CT for many years to come.

So much for the thought that Detroit might be inspired to play well at home on Thanksgiving. By not starting the ATL D and having Dallas shut down Anderson, or rather having Dayne steal his thunder, it looks like Pete is in line for a big win this week. My team is trying its best to open the door for CT's Cards and let him win that division but for some reason he just doesn't want it. LT goes for 40 and could help me hold off CT, even when I likely take another L on the week. As long has SA doesn't go crazy in the 2nd half and Harrison doesn't have a career day then I should be alright. Hopefully my team doesn't choke up in the last week because I am sick of this faltering when I have a chance at the playoffs.

It looks like I've moved to 10-2. That said, I think my team may be an easy out in the playoffs. Besides the core 5, my other 3 positions are very weak and unreliable. I truthfully really never expect more than maybe 10-15 point for the trio/week. This puts a lot of pressure on the TO-less core 5 of my team. The TO thing is probably costing me another 10 points per week, he was THAT good for my team when he was playing.
Seriously, I think my team potential for any given week right now is only about 75, so I don't really like my chances a whole lot. All the times I was near 100 occurred in the beginning of the season.....I think I'll be an easy out.

Been out all week. Found several adjustments. I made several upset picks in Pick'ems that didn't work out too well for me. So many possibilities in pick'ems and the playoffs that I can't even go through them all. The AFC is pretty simple. But the NFC is crazy. Perhaps I'll go through them all tomorrow. Congrats to StL Cards for his continued dominence. He added to several of his entries in our record book this week and even made a new entry.

Pick 'ems... I noticed a few teams missed a week of pick 'ems and then never bothered picking again. Maybe this was a conscious decision, or maybe it was an accident (they simply forgot, etc.) and they understandably just dropped out afterwards... 'cus if you miss a week, that's pretty much it.
I was thinking for next year maybe we could allow each manager to drop their lowest weekly score of the season. That way if you miss pick 'ems once, you aren't necessarily eliminated (just drop the 0). Of course, it would mean the standings page on the site wouldn't reflect the true score, though personally that wouldn't bug me much. It's not a big deal, just a thought trying to keep the game fun for all without being overly cumbersome.

From the rules:
Note that all players used in the playoffs must be on your team for the last game of the regular season. Therefore there are no acquisitions once the deadline before the first game starts for the last week of our regular season. i.e. No add/drops during the playoffs. Waivers/Add/Drops will be turned off at the freeze of Week 13.
This is the last week of the regular season, therefore, the last opportunity to add/drop a player for this year will be 12:55pm ET, on Sunday, Dec. 4th, since the first game starts at 1pm ET on that same day.

If you want to drop a week or change pick'ems in anyway, I'm down for that as well. Also, we only go through 13 weeks, but if you want since everyone plays the first week of the various playoffs in week 14 we could include that in the future as well. Think about it and we can make those changes before next year starts.
Ok, Playoff scenarios...
AFC Ref's Colts 9-3 have clinched Eastern Div. and at least the #2 seed. Can win the #1 seed with a Chiefs loss with tiebreak and tiebreak over Raiders with a win from them. SW's Chiefs 10-2 and Doug's Raiders 9-3 have both clinched playoff spots. Chiefs clinch #1 seed with a win. Raiders can only get the #1 seed with a Chiefs loss and Colts loss or outpoint the Colts via tiebreak. bmd's Texans 7-5 and Coyotes' Broncos 6-6 have their destiny's in their own hands as they play each other this week. With Coyotes' up in the tiebreak, it's simple. Winner goes to the playoffs.
NFC StL's 49ers 10-2 have clinched the #1 seed. With his tiebreak, he will clinch best regular season record with a victory over Twarpy's Giants. THK's Vikings 8-4 have virtually clinched the NFC North with his huge advantage in tiebreak over Twarpy's Giants and snagged the #2 seed in the NFC. bj21's Rams 8-4 takes on the mighty but inconsistent ct's Cardinals 6-6. A win for bj21 gurantees him the #3 seed. A loss might even knock him out of the playoffs in the wild NFC. Even with all of his points, I'm not sure CT can get in even with a win at 7-6, but he would probably own all tiebreaks. So if he wins and the 4th team is 7-6, he might sneak in. Twarpy's Giants, Pete's Cowboys, AF's Falcons and Toral's Saints are all 7-5. Twarpy would have to upset StL's Cards to have any chance at all with his low tiebrak number. AF plays CCR's Bears, Pete plays Promize's Seahawks and Toral plays thk's Vikings. All need a win and some help (tiebreak or another loss) to get in. Toral is well behind in points so needs to score a ton and hope that the others lose or score over 50 points less than him...a possibility, however bleak it may look. If they all lose (none play each other) and CT wins, it appears that he would in fact sneak in with a win. A more likely scenario is more than one will win and it will come down to the tiebreak. If more than two win, it's possible that bj21 could be on the outside looking in with a loss this week.

We talked about that, but decided against it. Reason being is that doesn't adequately judge who is the best team on the year for one (esp. with bye weeks) and two, we all don't play the same teams with the two interconference games. A win is a win in H2H, but if all things being equal as far as record, I like it how it is.
Ironically, it appears that I'm going to get the top seed in the East and could easily finish in 8th place.

I'm looking at some of the scores and CT might actually make the playoffs. Funny thing is, if he makes it, that means the team he would have to beat this week would also have to make the playoffs as well. As of now all the 7-5 teams are behind. Lots of upsets this week. Of course, last week was the pick'ems week where I picked all of those!!! Game of the week where winner goes to the playoffs is coming down to tomorrow night's game between Hasselbeck and his WR, Engram with Coyotes vs. bmd.

Lots of things to do. Found a few adjustments and as always, none of those changed a victory. It appears that StL has already made the matchups for next week.
Grats to Promize for winning Pick'ems!
I feel bad for CT's Cardinals for having the worst luck ever. He scores the 2nd most points in the league, only scoring below 73 one time and yet because of his matchups, held out of the playoffs! I can only imagine what he or others could have done in the AFC this year. I even looked at moving teams around in divisions based on team location but quickly nixed that idea. Every year things change so much that it's best they are left alone.
RFS went from Super Bowl winner to finish last in the league. SW went from last in the league to best in his division and one game shy of best record in the league. Other teams have come way up or fell hard this year for one reason or another. Hopefully we can build some rivalries up. I'd like to go in and run all-time records, etc.
I'll go back and double check StL's work but here's how the matchups should read:
1 vs. 4 and 2 vs. 3 in each Conference
Then despite conference 9 vs. 16, 10 vs. 15, etc. for the Wanna Be Bowl and 17 vs. 24 and 18 vs. 23 etc for the Toilet Bowl. The league elected to continue these "Bowls" as we always have so when you lose you are out. Everyone will play this week and it will have no bearing on your lottery position. Lottery goes top 4 in our league and the rest will fall in line in reverse order. RFS can pick no worse than 5th but has the best chance to pick 1st. As for the Super Bowl, each week will matter as order of finish does count in how you will pick next year. Winner will pick last, Runner-up will pick next to last and so on.

StL's matchups appear right as usual.
Week 14: 12/6/05 - 12/12/05 (Playoffs) Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts Oakland Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs St Louis Rams at San Francisco 49ers Dallas Cowboys at Minnesota Vikings Cincinnati Bengals at Arizona Cardinals San Diego Chargers at Atlanta Falcons Denver Broncos at New Orleans Saints Chicago Bears at NY Giants Pittsburgh Steelers at Philadelphia Eagles Cleveland Browns at Jacksonville Jaguars Seattle Seahawks at Green Bay Packers Buffalo Bills at Baltimore Ravens
RFS, you may not finish with the least points scored depending on what happens. I think you only need like 30 points or so to avoid that distinction. StL continues to climb the record book winning his 8th straight and knocking three 7 game winning streaks out of the record book. Skinneej, hit the record book yet again with his 8th straight loss leaving him only two behind his own record of 10. Good thing is that no matter what he can't equal that record this year.
The only other current streaks that could continue on through the playoffs and/or next year are my Colts with 6 straight wins and TB's Ravens with 6 consecutive losses. Many other records could go down in the comings weeks as again all playoff activity does count in the in the record books.

Things I like about the matchup: Palmer and CJ vs Cleveland
Things I don't: Portis vs Zona Seattle D vs SF Dallas D vs KC
Either way. Congrats to all for making the playoffs. This is a huge step for my team as I have been rebuilding ever since the 21st overall pick and that scrub A-train. Good luck.. . THK

Good point thk. Even though StL has to be considered a heavy favorite, he showed last week that he was human in his total. That said, I think this is the most balanced Super Bowl playoffs ever. It could easily be bmd's team in the Final as the #4 seed and 8th best record in the playoffs. Could be facing Pete's #4 and overall 7th best record--esp. if his team continues to do what it did last week.

What an ugly way to back into the playoffs - my QB on Mon. night with 60 yds and 2 picks (and an incredibly lopsided loss for the week).
Now I gotta hope that C. Frye gets named the starter this week.

Off the top of my head, I believe it's the first playoff trip for the Texans, Chiefs and Vikings franchises. All three teams have made some big moves to get there. I've been in all four now. Pete may have been as well. Doug have you been in three? I'll look at it more closely later.
Pete's high points for the week upped him in the standings for that record.

bmd - yea, I cant believe Seattle's effort last night. Would be really nice if they could repeat it against the 49ers. ;-)
This is my 4th trip to the playoffs, but my first where I will not be relying more on my WRs over my RBs. After getting bounced in the first round the first two years and then losing in the Superbowl last year, I figured out that I was too dependent on WRs. Haha yes it took me awhile, but I finally realized that even the best WRs seem to be too inconsistent. I'm anxious to see how my tandem of Portis and DD does. I really like both of their matchups this week(Portis against 'zona and DD against the Titans) I have a tough matchup this week against the Vikes who put a pretty good ass whooping on me a couple of weeks ago. That combo of Palmer and CJ is SICK.

Yeah, sw, I thought of you when I saw that. Also remembered our discussions about Collins preseason when you were considering trading him or Delhomme to me. Well not sure Simms is going to score much more than Collins, but at least he should get something. Garcia is starting too I just saw, but I'll likely leave him on the bench where he belongs. Volek won't play at all barring a McNair injury. He'd better play next year and I hope Suggs gets moved to someone who will actually use him. That guy has tremendous talent but injuries have prevented him from being dominating every year it seems. He did well when he actually played at least--though not at all this year. Here's hoping that all of Eli's passes go to Tiki, Plax and Toomer and Tiki gets all the goal line carries! Well perhaps Tiki should run them in from the 10 as Edwards has gotten the goal line carries this year. That has really hurt.
Wonder if Marcus will pass to Porter more than Collins did?!?! My guess is that he will want to pass to Moss even more, but with Moss being doubled, who knows?!?!

Guess the 3-headed monster of McNabb, J. Lewis and R. Moss didn't do much for me the past few weeks (or pretty much the entire season for the latter two)!

Grats to bmd, who definitely had the better team. My team is just average, but normally consistent like this week. Thanks Ref. 75-85 points a week would've beat my team most weeks. My team just happened to put up their best score of the season this week. Making the playoffs 4 years in a row is a great accomplishment and I'm sure you'll be back next year.
I'm pretty scared of the Raiders. Moats looks like a stud and he'll be facing one of the worst defenses in the league. Pretty sure Fragile Fred will be on my bench next week. I'm just glad starting him over Clayton didn't cost me the game.

Yeah, it's time for my team to rebuild. I've had horrible drafts as I've had to draft at the end and no one has been around. Giving away Priest for virtually nothing was my last ditch effort to try and win this year. Unfortunately, the only player I could use was Porter and he only had one good week. Priest may continue to be a stud--but obviously not this year. I'll again be picking in the bottom 1/3 of the draft again, so it may take a bad year and a trade to start to right my ship.
What was interesting is that all 4 AFC teams beat all the NFC teams except Pete.

Couldn't find but one adjustment. I've got the matchups. Someone please double check them but pretty sure they are accurate.
For the Wanna Be and Toilet Bowls, if you picture an 8 seed bracket then it's 1-8 and 4-5 in the top part and 2-7 and 3-6 at the bottom. So that's how I have them matched up.
Except for our Super Bowl Playoffs, if you lost, your season is over. We do not allow your players to score if you're not playing. I wanted us to change it so everyone played every week regardless, but it was soundly defeated--same thing for points accrual. So we are doing it as we always have.
Week 15: 12/13/05 - 12/19/05 (Playoffs) Houston Texans at Oakland Raiders Dallas Cowboys at San Francisco 49ers Kansas City Chiefs at Indianapolis Colts St Louis Rams at Minnesota Vikings Chicago Bears at Arizona Cardinals San Diego Chargers at Denver Broncos Baltimore Ravens at Philadelphia Eagles Cleveland Browns at Seattle Seahawks

Updated the record book, including, Moving StL, and skinnej up on the respective winning/losing streaks. Moved Pete up on the High Points for the Week List. He's still only had 5 ever 100 point weeks though so he will likely crack that list if he can do it again this year.
Looks like sw will get his QB back just in time to play me. Great! Told you I'd be lucky not to be playing for 7th place.
While the matchup of the week is StL vs. Pete, Don't forget about Doug and bmd as the winner there could surprise in our final week! Both of them are playing really well right now. The AFC has won all of our championships, so maybe it's fate?!?!?!?!

My team is sinking fast while Pete's has been on the rise lately. Westbrook is out for the year, Moss has a hamstring injury, and now Barlow was just downgraded to doubtful. Even though Barlow hasn't scored much he still had potential. Actually he was cheated the last two weeks as a 75yd screen pass was negated 2 weeks ago by penalty, and last week a 55yd run was negated.
So now I get to start Lloyd in the playoffs and if Moss can't go I'll be using my backup TE at WR. Oh well, anything can happen!

Wow PD! There are several interesting scores this week. Same as last year though I lose the first week then end up having a big game later on in the playoffs. Coyotes went nuts again. But really all that matters is that StL will enter his first Super Bowl and bmd,s Texans, you remember the team, the one that was our "fat kid" and the last one picked. The one viewed as the worst of the three...yeah well he showed you by taking his team to the final game. Nothing is official yet but let's just say he'd have to have negative points from his two guys left to lose! What a great season we've had.

STL, congrats! Your team dominated this year.
After seeing Moss's game I didn't think I stood a chance but if Engram would've put a reliable game together we could've pulled it out. It sucks knowing that Clayton was probably the better option last week yet for some reason I left Engram in my lineup. It's almost better to get blown out than to leave the victory on my bench. In any case I had a blast my first year and look forward to next year.

We have 23 of 24 paid for a total of $345: 1st: StL $125 2nd: bmd $65 3rd: Pete $40 4th: Doug $30 5th: Ref $22.50 6th: thk $20 7th: SW $17.50 8th: bj21 $15 Best Regular Season Record: StL $10 Pick'ems: Promize $23
Promize did better than all but 4 people just by going with Pick'ems. StL and I talked shortly after announcing payouts and we agreed that we should probably alter the payout structure a smidge. Probably so it steps by at least $5 now that so many are in it. But once it was announced, we didn't want to change it for this current year. That ended up helping StL as we were going to take that out of the winner's share!!! Only the top 4 teams made any money (counting site fee and pick'ems). My goal is to break even and that's about what I did. Anything extra is icing.

I was definitely sweating it out! In order to win you need an element of luck to go along with a decent team and I managed to have just enough of both this year. I easily could have lost this week as well as getting lucky to face BJ21's team on a week they did even worse than mine.
Hard to believe the team that nobody wanted to take over almost won the championship this year. Great job bmd!
I'm just glad the South finally brought down the East to set things right ;-)

G24 winners:
Please contact me here or via e-mail as to how you want your prize payout. Your options:
1) Pay Pal (need your e-mail addy please) 2) Check (send me your USPS addy please) 3) donate to Guru in your name 4) Carry over winnings to another season IE G20 baseball or G24 football next year. If you choose this option, I will be sending your money to StLCards for safe keeping as this is my last duty as treasurer.
I will be leaving for vacation today, but I'll try my best to get your e-mail and check here to get your payouts to you ASAP.
It was fun playing with you all for these 4 years. Wow, 4 years went by fast! Sorry my team stunk this year, but hopefully, I left next year's owner a chance for a good draft pick and Priestly recovery.
Sincerley,

I am rewriting my league defensive scoring by-laws, and I have a football statistics question: Where can I find the total number of NFL defensive scores such as safeties, interceptions, and kick returns? I have already looked at NFL.com/statistics. They only give returns for top 30 players.

Without rfs' vision we wouldn't have any of our G20/24 leagues. To lose him hurts on a personal level. But he's been wanting to leave for a long time and I had kept talking him into staying. After awhile, I've understood that he really doesn't want to continue and I've had to accept that. I know others have done the same and have come to the same conclusion.
In an unprecendented move, StL and I have awarded rfs' team to him immediately. GO was the first runner up to get a franchise this year and the same for baseball. Since GO is so active and we know of no other immiment team leaving, we are giving his team to him now rather than waiting until the season begins in case he has off season moves he wants to make.

Glad to be apart of the league and to take over for such a good player in RFS. Thanks for the consideration and invitation.
I have never used CBS before, so I am still kind of sifting through the site trying to understand everything. I do like what I have seen so far.
I am interested in trading draft picks for any players you don't plan on keeping - so please send me offers. I attached my work email here - I can be reached at this immediately during EST business hours. Merrill Lynch will gladly pay for me to negotiate football trades!
Secondly, I would also look at moving Priest if anyone is interested in him.

Mike Anderson signed with Baltimore now. At least he won't have to compete with Bell now and still lands with a running team. Still, leaving that great Denver running team is going to hurt somewhat I would think, but at least he's not a backup.

Smith *8/28/05 Steelers get Vikings 4th rounder in '06 (draft exchange during '05 draft) *10/27/05 Steelers get Cowboys' 3rd round pick in the Chargers DST for Blake deal *11/19/05 Rams get Mike McMahon and 49er's 5th round pick in 2006 and the 49er's get Stephen Alexander and the Rams 3rd pick in 2006. *11/22/05 Toral receives thk's 2nd rounder for his 4th round pick in the Smith/Barber for McAlister/Clark deal.

And if anyone has an offer that'll help steer me in the right direction - that would be great - guess I need to go through old drafts etc. to get a grasp on value, and don't really have a handle on what everything is worth yet.

As of now there hasn't been anyone else that has let me know they will not continue. GO was the first alternate and took rfs' team after last season. Generally, managers don't tell us they aren't returning until we start to solicit that info before the season.
Frick, I know you were considered last season too. I can't remember who all we looked at, but I do know that if there were enough openings, you would have gotten a team, so you were given a good recomendation by all that knew you. Leave your contact info so we can contact you if a need arises.

SF drafting Vernon Davis (Eric Johnson), Favre announcing he is coming back (Aaron Rodgers), Schaub not getting traded, and Onterrio Smith not being reinstated has deflated the value of several guys I was trying to trade or looking at as keepers. I sure wasted this years 2nd round pick on the Smith gamble. So much talent, so little self-control.

Not nec. mbj, you could have the first pick or as low as the 13th pick theoretically. Odds are that you will have somewhere around the 9th pick though after the lottery.

Just saw that we have to renew the league by June 26th. Is that like way early or what? With that in mind we should look to start getting our stuff together by around the first of June or so.

Also remember that there WILL be a league vote on our keeper number. Based on an informal poll on the CBS site, a majority of owners favored lowering the number of keepers. There has been proposals for 7 and for 8 in lieu of our current 9. We can discuss the merits of both.

Crap, forgot about the keeper issue.
I will once again comment on the fact that I am firmly behind staying with 9.
All the changes I have made have been based on that number.

Well I am sure that a change wouldn't go into effect until next year so we all have time to prepare. I don't see it passing if the proposal was immediate. In fact, we asked that very question in our informal poll and while several wanted it now, more wanted to wait. Combine that with those that want to keep it at 9 and there is no way IMM that it comes close.

*8/10/05 Saints receives Vikings 1st round pick in the Foster/Smith/Stallworth for K.Jones deal
*11/22/05 Toral receives thk's 2nd rounder for his 4th round pick in the Smith/Barber for McAlister/Clark deal.
wow...that KJ deal hurt BAAAD.
Foster Stallworth Duece Clark 1st and 2nd round pick
for
Smith KJ Barber 4th round pick
Well, to me it doesn't look too bad when I lay it out like that but I really got rocked on that first part. I still think KJ will be great and Duece has Bush and a bum knee to deal with. Foster is decent but will never be a huge producer. Smith is obviously a stud. I will miss my 1st round pick and Stallworth though.
A trade like that just made makes we want to get back into the swing of things. Too bad I have 2 more weeks of hell.

Been talking on AIM to a few members who have some strong views about the Keeper issue. I must admit that I am solidly on the fence and really want some discussion so I can figure out how I'm going to vote when it comes to that. I am guessing that others are in the same boat. So if those of you who have strong feelings one way or the other can post, perhaps we can come to some sort of a consensus. I'd like to play devil's advocate on a few issues on either side just to figure out how 7, 8 or 9 affects the league and if a change will even help the league at all.

I abstain from voting as I don't really have a concept of the difference that 7, 8 or 9 keepers would make due to my rookie status.

Not even clsoe to calling for a vote yet but hoepfully by then we will all have an idea. Again this year will still have 9 keepers. We would be voting for the future after all of our 24 managers are accounted for.

OK I processed the trade as SW gave me the name of the guy to drop. Also, since our records from last year have been archived, I went ahead and changed GO's team from the Steelers to the Jets.

Jets, cool... you can also go ahead and skip that little lottery thing you had planned and just award me Reggie Bush instead. Thanks. :)

Let me just say, I don't believe I have ever won a draft lottery or picked #1 ever in any league - in any sport. So I don't see why my luck would change lol...
