Subject: autodraft sucks, need help

I completely forgot about a draft last tuesday.
Here is the team that got autodrafted for me:

QB: kurt warner
WR: Steve Smith, Joey Galloway, Donald Driver
RB: Lamont Jordan, Juluis Jones
TE: Alge Crumpler
RB/WR: Rueben Droughns

Bench: Brett Favre, Samkon Gado, Ron Dayne (who I just dropped for Pennington)

K: Jason Elam
Def: Tam

I just received a trade offer:
Rueben Droughns for Donovan McNabb

I feel like I should be able to ask for a bit more and that I need a bit more, maybe a WR.

His team:
P Manning
Chad Johnson, Derek Mason, R Brown
Warrick Dunn, Chester Taylor
Dallas Clark
Ernest Wilford
D'Angelo Williams, D McNabb, Roddy White
Kaeding
Baltimore

I've done little so far in the way of football this year and don't even recognize a few of his WR (wilford, white). Where does Brown stand now w/ Stalworth in town? #2 guy? Am I over-reaching by asking for a W/R as well?

i'd sit pat with that team, to be honest.

you have a decent QB; you have a solid WR1, a solid WR2, a decent WR3; you have a solid RB1, a VERY strong RB2, and a really solid RB3; and you have a top 7 TE.

i think you're fine. QB is your biggest weakness, and well, bye weeks might give you problems, but other than that.

Yeah, between Favre, Pennington, and Warner you should be fine. Listen to Tree: you don't need to trade for McNabb.

See if he'll give you Manning for Droughns.

Why does everyone hate on Warner so much? Everyone is projecting that he is going to have two 1200+yard receivers and a lot of passes to Edge. If he gives the reigns over to Leinart, pick him or someone else off of waivers, but until then, he should be decent.

I think your team turned out pretty well to be honest with you.

Warner is not "Kurt Warner, circa 2001". That's the standard people hold him up to, and where he'll never tread again.

He really is injury prone and it's not a matter of if he gets hurt but when. Pinning your hopes on Warner this season without having Leinart as a backup could result in a disaster for your fantasy team.

If Edgerrin James does what he's supposed to, I cannot see Fitzgerald and Boldin duplicating their 2005 performances.

MC - you are right. But Warner is possibly a top 10 QB, and no worse than a top 12 QB. he is certainly more than just "servicable", if you've got other key position players.

i agree with you, however, about Leinart. if he's available, i'd drop one of your other QBs for him.

going back to the deal, i think you're helping him more than you're helping yourself. he only has two current starting RBs, so he'll have to play a WR in the flex position. i'd rather have a RB there every time.

i'd also work on swinging a deal for Marion Barber too...
