Good Look at What Moves Teams Made Today

Some interesting moves I had heard nothing about.
Word out of Carolina was that they were dropping Eric Shelton.
They put him on IR.

Some definite surprise there, to be sure.

According to the Charlotte Observer, RB Eric Shelton might be used as the Panthers' short-yardage back.

It seems somewhat unlikely that the team would suddenly trust Shelton in such an important role, but the newspaper points out that Carolina's other backs aren't exactly bruisers. Another option is Nick Goings.

Not so sure that IR is right based on this.

I would say the Charlotte Observer is living in a fog.

NFL.com Transaction List

This tends to say he is on the IR.

Wow,
Now I am confused.
This from the Panthers Official Site.
Quote by Fox:

"On running back Eric Shelton making the team: He's a powerful guy who can move the pile. Down the road if anything were to happen to the people in front of him, that's a positive trait."

The cutting of Charles Rogers by the Lions sums up their entire orginization over the past 50 years. Without question, they are now the worst franchise in the history of professional sport!

I agree that they have been one of the biggest failures in the NFL, but letting Rogers go was one of the first steps in the right direction. Canning Millen would be another huge step for them. I was more surprised when they left G. Martinez go.
