Russell to the Raiders as expected. Calvin Johnson goes second.

Browns pass on Quinn and go with Thomas. My little conspiracy theory is that Weiss told Romeo something confidential that would keep him from drafting Quinn. Quinn slides to at least Washington now. The Browns could've used a QB too so them passing on Quinn is interesting.

Definitely interesting. Quinn was the sexy pick but I'm kinda glad I didn't have to cheer for Brady Quinn now. Do the Browns now go for Stanton or the BYU QB 2nd round?

Adams goes to TB. This could set up a Calvin Johnson trade. We shall see.

I love it how the ESPN cameras show Quinn after the Cardinals take Brown. As if the Cards would draft that guy considering they have Leinart.

Biggest surprise for me so far, no trades yet.

And...Minnesota gets to look at both Adrian Peterson and Brady Quinn. They would have been happy to have just one of those guys on the board for their selection I would think.

Minny will take AP, and I think Quinn drops down to Miami.

HAHA, my dad told me he goes to church with a teacher from Glenville High School where Ginn went. She said he had some big time learning disabilities and most of the time he didn't have specific routes that he ran. They just let him run out and do his thing. With that speed it'll be interesting to see how he fares in the NFL.

I am liking who will be available to the Bills for their first round pick.

I hope they have that same choice SF has in post 7.

What team is most likely to push hard and trade up for a pick to get Quinn? What would it take for Detroit to get another pick? Their second this year and first and third next year?

I think Buffalo likes Losman after his second half of the season he had last year. If the season ended after half a season, Buffalo would seriously look at Quinn.

I think the Bills have too many needs to afford the luxury of taking Quinn.

It's the recent trend of being careful with using a really high pick on a QB unless you feel 100% sure about him. Apparently the Dolphins didn't. I also think the stories of Culpepper being gone or not playing much this coming year are overrated. We'll see.

If I am the GM of a lot of teams, I make a push to get a pick soon and take Quinn. I think he will be good, he has that intangible of wanting to succeed that a lot of players don't have.

Cameron loves Trent Green. Had him in Washington after he came out of Indiana and helped make him what he is today. Then Cameron goes to Indiana (where he sank the program even lower). With Green, there's your starter and Daunte is history.

Quinn would be a nice addition for a lot of teams. But not every team can afford the price of making a push for a guy to sit on the bench for 2 years, in the case of "a lot of teams." They also have other needs to fill.

But a lot of teams have new coaches/GM's that have the luxury of having those extra seasons of grace to build. Plus Matt Millen has pictures of someone because he just inked a new deal as well.

I think someone in the next 6 picks would take Detroit's 2008 1st and 2007 2nd for their first this year.

That being said, Buffalo ALWAYS seems to throw curveballs out at the draft, they won't pick Quinn, but since everyone is projecting they take Willis, I think they go Greg Olsen.

Today's draft with the falling of quinn makes me think more of a couple of years ago with Aaron Rodgers. Many thought he was a top five or ten pick and he fell all the way to the mid-twenties. I don't think Quinn falls that far, but I couldn't tell you who is going to grab him. I guess the question is how much does green bay love aaron rodgers, and how badly do they want a first round running back. Wouldn't surprise me if that is where he ends up going

I really doubt that Green Bay would draft Quinn. Taking 2 QB's in the first round in 3 years would be as strange as Detroit taking a WR in 4 of the last 5 years.

Can they afford him though? The way I see it, it will be cheaper the longer they wait.

I knew there was no way Timmons would make it to the Colts at 32. There were some early mock drafts that had him falling that far. But Hamels would be a great pick at 32. Having a torn biceps muscle, he's flying under the radar. Still the Colts need a LB in the worst way. But couldn't pass up Hamels if he is there.

NFL network is reporting that Randy Moss is in NE for a physical. If he passes then NE is giving Oakland a 4th round pick for him.

Talk about an aggresive offseason. NE has to be far and away the favorite to win the super bowl this season. They will have Donte Stallworth lining up across from Moss !!!

Anyone else think the Colts had quite possibly the worst draft ever? I am sick of people saying they did a good job at filling positions they need. They didn't draft a LB (their biggest need) until the 4th round. I am so glad they traded up to pass again on David Harris (6-2 242 Michigan ILB) and then draft an LT. I forget who was the Colts LT last year? (Answer: Pro Bowler Tarik Glenn) And the first round, "Let's draft a WR." Who was the Colts WR's last year? (Answer Pro Bowlers and future Canton enshrinees Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne.) I had to listen to the idiots say how much the Colts needed a replacement to Brandon Stokely, but he played 4 games and had 8 catches last year. How much do they really NEED him when they have Dallas Clark who doubles as a slot receiver? I would be so glad if the Colts drafted Harris and Paul Posluszny (Penn St. OLB) and then have Brackett as thier third LB. Only time will tell what happens with this draft I guess.
I am so glad our defense was so good last year because our offense struggled so much. [/sarcasm]
If someone who is wise to the draft can correct something I am missing please do so.

Wouldn't this have to do with contracts? I know Moss has a big contract and I'm sure Jackson does as well. Seems the hit in salary cap would make teams less willing to give up higher picks that could be used on guys with less salary cap impact.

Kyle, people went absolutely beserk when Polian drafted Reggie Wayne several years ago, the defense was terrible and had gaping hole and the Colts draft a WR. That move seems to have paid off for them. WRs need a couple of years to transition to the NFL, if Gonzalez is ready in 2 years Harrison will be getting close to retirement. Ugoh will probably play mostly at G next year and will be an upgrade, plus will be ready to move to T in a couple of years as Glenn either retires or moves on.

I'm not going to criticize any Polian draft until he pulls a complete stinker or two. I'll give the guy a little credit after the Leaf/Manning and Edge/Ricky Williams choices.

I absolutely hate what Dallas Did with their draft.
You have a shot at Dwayne Bowe in the 1st round but trade it for a 2nd and next year 1st. Then they turn around and give up their 2nd, 3rd and 5th for the 26th pick. Wouldnt it have been better to take more picks this season? I have to assume they could have gotten Cleveland's 2nd 3rd and possibly 4th this season (3rd overall) and done alot more damage. I like spencer, but not enough to ruin this seasons draft./

I have actually seen a couple of articles that say the Colts had one of the better drafts this past weekend. I think adding Gonzalez to that offense is going to make them even more scary, already by game 4 this year.

If only the Bills had a better weekend rating...

I agree with Kyle here. Even if they feel they needed Gonzales, why Ugoh? By all accounts he is not an NFL starter at this time. He defintely shouldn't be starting for the Colts. They are talking about grooming him for when Glenn retires, but Glenn hasn't even talked about retirement yet. Obviously they are making sure that Peyton always has protection from his backside, but man, I think he may have been there later and to give upnext year's first for him? Sure he may have went in the first next year, but you are paying him and developing him for a whole year when you could be doing that for a LB. Then you could have given up your first next year for him if need be. Maybe that's not practical but whatever.

I really have a lot of faith in Polian. His picks usually pan out and he is a great football mind. Perhaps they didn't like the guys on the board, but in the press conference they said they were aiming at Gonzo and one other guy the entire draft. Obviously he knows something we don't but I am still in shock. He's done a great job on finding diamonds so we shall see.

The Colts have a habit of drafting linemen, playing them at Guard before moving them to Tackle. I know that Diem played Guard his rookie year and I think that Glenn did also. Even if Glenn isn't thinking about retirement, he is gettin up there in age, his current contract expiring and his weight issues make the pick a bit more logical.

The Colts have had quite a bit of success of finding LB later in the draft, other than Rob Morris, were any of their other recent draft picks higher than the 2nd round? Peterson maybe?

I was thinking Peterson was a 2nd, but I could easily be wrong.

I looked on Yahoo. He was a second rounder (36 overall). I knew he was a 1999 draft choice and looked on wikipedia, but they have him listed as "Matt Gallop, LB, Florida"
