Pretty wild trading at the opening this morning. I made about $35 in the first 15 minutes, and trading seems to have moderated a bit now. Had I been more organized, I'm sure I could have picked up another $10-20.

Looks like trading at the Tuesday morning opening is going to be an important component of generating gains. Tough break for those of you late sleepers on the left coast.

After 15 minutes, Adrian Peterson is the big gainer, up almost $17. Randy Moss is up $10.50, and Derrick Ward is up about $9.50

I'm up about $40 without really planning anything out ahead of time too.

Does anyone have any early ideas about who is facing weak defenses or especially good matchups in week 2?

Can anyone really justify spending $30 on Ward? I'm almost tempted to keep the cash and move him already

Cliff - I'm thinking I'll get out of some of these guys relatively quickly because they are likely to start giving back some of their gains eventually. That's why I'm trying to figure out which teams have good matchups...safer place to park my money.

I turn on my computer here at work (I start at 8:30 cst), and check my work e-mail. Then (15 minutes later) I check Rotohog to make my planned trades thinking that prices would move but not much until after 9. Boy was I wrong. My new Tuesday routine will be show up early for work, check the Hog and then my e-mail :P

I'm up about $50 this morning, also without being organized. I am currently missing out on Chris Brown and Reggie Wayne due to lack of funds and lack of roster spots, but I still have 5 of the top 7 gainers ($$-wise) on my team.

The question I have is when do I sell my "gainers" and pick up my "point-producers" for the coming week? I would think possibly Thursday would be ahead of the curve-- and of course I can still keep 3 gainers on the bench, as well.

Adrian Peterson at $60-- doesn't that seem a bit high now? Worth selling and banking my $14 gain?

At $31+, Ward seems overpriced. Will bear watching.

At defense, I took Cincy, as the contra-Cleveland option. I may not stay there, but they were moving up early, so I took 'em and I'll sort it out later.

The only price loser who I held was Crayton, and he's only down about a buck so far. I still thought he was a decent option for me to start this week. I don't trust any of those ultra-cheap receivers.

Well, my roster page wasn't giving me a sell button--even though I was hitting update. Finally I went to trading page as it was like a Christmas tree. Couldn't figure things out. Then went back to roster page and it was working fine. I wasn't prepared relaly and also started filling some slots instead of going for gains. Also didn't make my first move until prob 9:45. Am still up a few bucks--but mostly on guys I already had.

Looks like they bumped Ward up by about $5.00 overnight. Before the opening, I showed him at $16.13 (sell price), and today's posted market movement of +10.65 (as of this moment) fails to explain about $5 of his current price.

I noticed Ward went down about 70 cents, so I bailed. Also bailed on Peterson.

I've made about $50 so far today, putting me at $392. Really want to hit that $400 mark for some reason :)

Yeah, I really had some miscues and took way too long to get in on Moss and Peterson because of it. Still made almost $50 so far. Reggie Wayne was the only top 8 guy I missed I think.

I moved into some higher talent guys with my Peterson/Ward/Moss money. I figure with everyone's new-found wealth guys like Addai and Manning should do alright.

I parlayed Peterson into Manning, which (for now) I am happy about. I figure if he produces, and because of his name, Manning could be one of the first to sell out, so I want to be on board.

I started today at $330 and am now around $390-- not the magic 400, but I certainly feel like I am not at as big of a disadvantage, and perhaps I'll get to $400 before the week is over.

I did look back at my week 1, and, the guys that I sold from my roster today no longer show up on my week 1 roster. I actually never even saw what my final point total was (though I know Alex Smith was a big bust). I assume this is just cosmetic, but I wanted to see what my point total was compared to the leaders. Is there any other place I can find my point total on the site?

I'm surprised we haven't seen anyone sold out. I was thinking about going ahead and locking LT in until his bye week, but I guess its not an issue yet. Already have Peyton & Addai locked in

Wow... Lorenzen and McDonald just made a big run-- and I thought my big gainers were done for the day!

I'm a bit surprised LaMont Jordan has not gone up much today. He's #2 in points for RB's and half the price of #1. Chris Brown, the #6 is now more than $4 more than him after a +$10 run up today. I am thinking/hoping that once things settle other will see this and buy him. :)

I had to get out of Curry, costing me a buck and wasting oppoortunity profit. But after I sold him I realized why I bought him in the first place, I don't have the cash to get a Moss, etc. Saw the Cincy D jumping up and barely had enough. Had to dump the Pitt D and as well as Cincy's D played last night and facing the Browns, it might be a good hold.

I wish rotohog would have all players grouped on the main page. Ds and Ks aren't included in that apparently as it is set to default with Offense. Subsequently, Ds and Ks will get ignored more. Still at the end of the day, people are going to use one of each and most will notice thier own D/K's price (if they have one at this point).

I just did a quick calc, and it looks like you currently need about $485-ish to load up with the most expensive 10 starters.

If that holds true, it sounds like some of us will be there by next week. Maybe even this week.

As in baseball, the trading aspect might be of secondary importance very early in the season.

I'm up to $348. The bell opened before school starts here so I was able to jump in right away. I had to hope the market didn't crash until my plan period (now). Fortunately it worked out. I feel a whole lot better after my poor financial showing last week. Now if I can just turn these $$$ into points...

136th place after week 1... $420 as of a few mins ago.

I'll need to swap Lorenzen for a real QB and McDonald for a real WR sometime this week.

Wonder how soon they'll update Rayner to show he's on KC now.

I went Pitt -> Cinci like Ref.

Moss is the only guy I have who's at least one full dollar off of his season high... everyone else seems at/near it. Well, except Peterson's about 80 cents off it. I'd swap him for Steven Jackson at this point if he wasn't facing Detroit this week.

I agree with TJ. I did well last week when the market was slow. Now the differences might not mean so much. That first week was big adn after a fast start, I laid an egg at the end. 181st place but only 40 points back. Still going to be very tough with so mnay people so close. Going to take some diff picks that work out repeatedly.

The season high/low thing actually is reflecting today's high/low. I kept looking at it weird in how I had buys less than the season low. Then I started looking closer and noticed what's up.

+$92 today, at this point-- +$22 in the last 3 hours, and I haven't even made any trades at that time. Methinks $$ will not mean much for much longer, unless you happen to be really low. But I am sure I will be able to get the team I want this weekend, as I will not want all the highest priced players, and probably won't worry about saving any money to make money for next week. I learned in baseball that points win the game, not $$, and though I have $1700+ in team value there, I would trade a good chunk of that for points in a heartbeat, as I'm sitting in the 30's in the real standing with an unused balance of $811.

Frye to Seattle if anyone missed it. Quinn and Anderson will see nice gains, though Quinn will probably become a bubble situation given he's unlikely to start this week.

I saw Avant was on the top of page two and rising so I nabbed him along with Anderson finally. I sold Ward after he dropped about a buck more. AP has gone up a few pennies but nothing major. Watching Lorenzen carefully as well. He had surged a few tiems after dropping previoously so who knows.

It would be nice if I had enough money toi use all my slots ot make more money, but I really don't want to sell anyone I am considering using next week. Don'tw ant to take a chance on selling out for one.

I was tring to figure out what retarded my gains today and I see one was Jacobs. Apparently hog reduced his price before the market opened. Also have lost quit a bit the last half hour or so. Made some moves--which only added to those losses. Been living on page two as those guys are starting to move up slowly and should be the next big gainers--or so I am thinking.

For anyone in an ESPN league, be sure to check out their "Smack Cards"......a pretty funny way to rub it in after a victory (perhaps they have had these forever, but this is the first year in many years I've used ESPN). Be sure to click on the "doodle" when you are filling out the card.....they have a pretty hilarious "in your face" drawing you can add where a football is wedged halfway into the guy's face.

I was off to a horrible start through week 2 and now our firewall has deemed RH a "gambling" website so I can't access it from school at all. That pretty well kills my chances of earning any cap money and therefore essentially eliminates me from prize contention. It stinks, but life will go on.

The good news is that at this point it should have no effect on baseball as I do most of that at home anyway. I don't need to be around for a specific market time in the morning, etc...

Hopefully because hoops is much more like baseball I'll be able to compete. Best of luck to you guys for the remainder of football season.

You got me. I'm pretty sure we outsource this and the "St. Bernard" company flagged it as gambling. I can contact my principal and get it approved, but I don't really want to be the guy who asks for permission to access a sight flagged as a gambling website. We all know it's not gambling, but I really don't want to have to explain it all and convinve any administrator that I only use it before or after school and at lunch. It all just starts to sound like rationalization for a nonexistant gambling problem (I don't bet on games of any kind) so I can access a miscategorized non-gambling site. I'll just leave it as is and make the best of it from home.
