Subject: Week 9....who to start

Ok...it's early (technically, week 8 isn't even over yet).

My dilemma...QB: Start Roethlisberger or McNabb?

Big Ben has the Ravens...McNabb has the Cowboys (but it's in Philly).

Big Ben has been more consistent, but when McNabb has his big games, he's the better pick.

Any thoughts? (clearly, as a philly fan, I want McNabb to go 'lights out' on the Cowboys).

IMHO, the answer depends on the rest of your squad and your opponent this week. Are you going to NEED a huge game from your QB slot, to win your matchup? If so, McNabb is more likely I think, to put up HUGE points than is Ben. BUT, McNabb and the Eagles this year, are also more likely to be a bust. If you think you just need a non-crippling game from your QB to win, I'd go with Ben.

I'm at a point where I'm considering starting Derek Anderson over Carson Palmer this week. I can't believe I just typed that!

Well....my problem is solved.

I traded McNabb.

I got Clinton Portis and Vince Young in return.

This worked out for me since we start 2 RB and my starters were Willie Parker and either Jesse Chatman or Fred Taylor. Now I have Parker and Portis and since McNabb was sitting on my bench not doing me much good...I figure, "what the heck?".

I originally offered Parker and McNabb for Young and Westbrook, but he didn't want to part with Westbrook...I thought that was a better deal for him but hey, I'm not complaining.

and one more from Peter Schragers Wednesday Buffet on Fox... as relayed by Slizz

You've gotta love these "Start 'Em/Sit 'Em" segments ESPN does with their fantasy football "gurus" now every week. Saturday's suggestion for Sunday's games? "Sit Steve Smith". Yep. Bench your second round pick and arguably the best wide receiver in the entire league. Why? "Because of the quarterback situation in Carolina." Hey, with bye weeks and injuries, I've got Dennis Northcutt, Amani Toomer and Anthony Gonzalez currently starting as my fantasy football team's wide receivers. I don't care if a guy named Bill Testaverde is pulled from the stands to play quarterback, Steve Smith is starting.
