Subject: Week 13: RB and WR Decisions

1. Need points to pass 1 or 2 teams who are close so I get into the playoffs.
We play DHs, so I am thinking I want to take risks and not play safe -- and play same set of players in both games.

Any dissenters?

2. I also think as as between players with equal expectations of fantasy points, I am well advised to take the ones with the bigger risk -- i.e., the bigger chances for a big game. Any dissenters?

3. 2 RBs needed. I have Selwyn Young, and Chatman, but they are #4 and #5 choices on my team. (BTW I suspect Henry is not going to be suspended ever, but that's another story.)

I need 2 of Fargas, T. Jones, and Kolby Smith.
Rotoguru protocol requires me to say some things indicating (or pretending)that I have looked into the matter myself, rather than just posting to ask for opinions.

Fargas is the most highly indicated of the 3 based on rankings on the 7 sites I track. Denver games up 147 YPG -- but only 9 RTD as opposaed to 17 PTD. QB starter for Oakland uncertain.

Thomas Jones faces a team giving up 149 YPG -- and 13 RTG as opposed to 16 PTD. But Thomas Jones has not yet scored a TD on the year.

Kolby Smith went off last week. But SD gives up only 114 YPG and only 8 RTD as opposed to 16 PTD.

I guess passing situation on all 3 teams is not great.

So -- 2 of -- Fargas, Jones, K. Smith, S. Young, and Chatham.

4. #3 WR receiver needed.

Candidates: Reggie Brown, Justin Gage.

All the numbers strongly indicate Gage. Any dissenters?

Thanx for any help.

I'd go with Fargas and Selwyn (if he gets the nod over andre hall or travis henry).

Fargas has emerged as a guy who you really shouldnt be benching. He gets 20-25 touches a game and the ocassional TD will help.

Re: Kolby Smith, that 111 yards vs SD is slightly skewed b/c of Adrian Peterson's near 300 yard 3 TD game. In reality it should be MUCH lower. I would expect much from him. KC's offensive line is putrid and he only had a good game last week b/c oakland cant stop the run.

If not...monitor Thomas Jones' status. I think this is the week he FINALLY gets off the shnide and gets his first rushing TD.

As for your WR's. Stick with your gut. Go with Gage...hes emerged as the #1 in that offense for VY and I dont see why this weekend facing Houston will be any different.

Best of luck.
