Subject: RotoHog Salary Cap Football

I have loaded up the players, prices, sortable stats, and Assimilator for the RotoHog Salary Cap games.

For those who may not know, these games are virtual clones of the TSN Salary Cap format from prior years. TSN is no longer offering fantasy football. Since RotoHog managed the hosting software last year, they were in a position to replicate the game.

Scoring point formulas are the same as the old TSN formulas. Price changes will be different, based on RotoHog's own formula. They've tried several approaches in baseball, and it's impossible to know in advance just how the football price change formula will be configured.

A few other notes:
1. Draft prices are slightly different for the Premier (Ultimate) vs. Basic games.

2. Many of the draft prices are puzzling. I'll let you scan down the list to see some of the apparent inconsistencies.

3. All players have already been priced - including rookies. (They even priced Chris Henry, who's been dead since December!) The minimum draft price is $750, but most of those players will decline to $500 once the season starts and gravity takes hold.

4. In my sortable stats tables, I am showing the actual points used in the TSN game last season. RotoHog shows 2009 points in their "Buy Player" pages as well, but for kickers and team defenses, the RH calculations somewhat different than mine. (The defense discrepancy is because RH has ignored fumble recoveries; I don't know why the kicker points are different.) For offensive players, my points totals are very close to those shown by RotoHog, probably different only to reflect scoring corrections that were never processed in last season's TSN game.

All of the links to sortable stats, Assimilator, etc. are the same as before. See the second drop-down menu in the upper left of this page, or use the links in the left panel of the RotoGuru home page.

If you discover any glitches, please report them here.

I have not yet decided whether to set up a separate Premier division for GuruPatrons. If you are a GuruPatron and would like to join a private division, please post your interest here. We need to have at least 10 to achieve the prize threshold.
