Ohio State becomes the first ever unanimous preseason #1.

Which means, of course, that they'll finish nowhere near there, in the end.

Look at their schedule. Of course it's unanimous. They play a bunch of high school teams.

The same high school teams that they beat up last year before playing Alabama?

Good thing they don't have to play those dreaded SEC teams like Ole Miss and Miss St, I mean after their bowl performances, I'm not sure why the play-off wasn't just 4 SEC teams. Because according to the ESPN hype machine, that's what it should have been.

Bean: I'm a Buckeye's fan, too.

To some degree, all conference teams are at the mercy of a conference schedule, good or bad. But looking over their actual schedule the only teams who did not go to a bowl game last year are Hawai'i, Indiana, and Michigan. They are hardly going to not schedule Michigan, and Indiana is a conference game.

All their other opponents went to bowl games last year. That's not a list of "high school teams."

I'm not taking away anything from there great performance in the Championship game....

Losing all their QB's and winning was great too.

But the caliber of BigTen weekly is not even close to SEC / PAC12. Just isn't.

Hopefully there is some upswing to the Bigten, looks to be. I personally see Minnesota sneaking away with it. Michigan maybe 4 more years.

Ohio State has an easy path this year.. And it wasn't created last week or anything. Just favors them this year. Probably created 3 years ago...

Hawaii? Northern Ill? Western Michigan? Illini?

Anyways, it is college football time and trash talking is always enjoyable! :)
Someone will be knocked off that wasn't expecting to be knocked off during the year.

I disagree that the caliber of the B1G is not even close to the SEC.

So the two teams that everyone wanted over Ohio St. TCU and Baylor. TCU played Mississippi and won 42-3. Baylor played Michigan St and lost 42-41.

The SEC was 2-4 vs ranked teams and the B1G was 3-2.

I'm going to the Huskies v. Ducks game this Saturday. Bought the tickets back in the summer and certainly didn't foresee how the season would play out before this game.

My UW roommate and old friend is coming up from Portland to go to the game with me. He moved to Oregon seven years ago and our Huskies have lost to Oregon every year he has been there.

With the Ducks having lost to Wazzu at home, not only do we think that the Huskies will break the seven game losing streak, we EXPECT them to. Can't let the Cougs beat the Ducks and not do it ourselves. BITEM' DAWGS!

Promize, do you still feel that the B1G isn't as good as the SEC or Pac10?

Granted the B1G West is god awful, but the SEC East isn't any better.

I retract my prior statement. The B1G divisions winners were garbage.

Sadly, I wish Indiana had won, but the FG controversy had nothing to do with it. Not being able to stop huge plays (just like the rest of the year) had everything to do with it.

Thanks, Slizz. This year has been spectacular, more than one could have hoped for. After watching every game with multiple big plays on offense and take aways on D, I have hoped that we would get a chance to be on the top stage. Win or lose, this year has been amazing.
