The following managers have been assigned to the AAA#2 league:

My wife will be managing a team in this league, and will also serve as a co-commissioner. Since she has no formal commissioning experience, I'll be overseeing many of the administrative duties.

RIFC will likely start its draft on Saturday, Aug 27.

Traditionally, the qualifying leagues start earlier. But not necessarily much earlier. Maybe Thursday, Aug 25?

Last year, we implemented a draft rule to the effect that if you had drafted a player who was subsequently injured in a preseason game on the 3rd weekend of preseason games, you could immediately drop that player and substitute a replacement player (from the pool of players still available at the time of the dropping, of course.) That doesn't offer complete protection against the impact of a preseason injury, but it's better than nothing. (I'll have to look that rule up to see if we applied any other criteria.)

We will also need to select our draft order. That can be done at any time. Recall that we use the bonzai order, which is a standard snake except that the 3rd round is reversed. We'll probably do that next week.

Since the draft starts prior to games for NFL Preseason Week #3, we'll "protect" a team who drafts a player before his week #3 game and who is injured in that game. If you are in that situation, you'll have 24 hours to make a substitute pick - but only from the player pool still remaining.

So, for example, if Tim Tebow is drafted by Crabby Bills prior to the Eagles game on Aug 29, and Tebow is injured in that game (significantly enough to potentially impact regular season availability), then Crabby Bills can jettison Tebow and substitute any other player who is still in the undrafted pool at the time of the jettison. This, however, must be done by the end of day August 30.

While this obviously isn't complete insurance, it is designed to keep the draft moving during that first weekend. And it's certainly better than being stuck with an eventual free agent to replace an early draft pick. Hopefully, this situation will never come into play.

I will generate a random draft order using the MFL draft system. That is the order that will be used for the draft selection round only. You will then pick (in that order) what your draft preference will be. When we have completed the process, I'll override the order on the MFL site.

I'm still inclined to start the actual draft on or about August 25.

I'll send out an email to the league when the draft selection round is set to begin.

Remember that this draft uses a "bonzai" version of a snake draft - which means that it is a regular snake draft except that the third round is reversed. So the team picking #1 overall will pick last in rounds 2, 3, and 4. After that, it's a regular snake format.

I used the draft system at myfantasyleague to generate a random order of managers. This order will be used for the draft selection round only. After everyone has selected, I'll reset the draft order to correspond to your choices.

When it is your turn, please post your selection below.

While this is an untimed round, if we get stuck, I reserve the right to skip past anyone who is unresponsive.
