Too much extra cash left unused, IMO. Why not go Walz-->Thornton? and/or Brisebois-->Gonchar?

RE: post #1 I am saving the extra $'s to go into Mogilny, Nieuwendyk, and Sundin for Saturday's games. They will replace Stumpel, Walz, and Brunette - they have two games before Toronto plays at all. The Toronto guys will then be keepers until November 5th. I could not find any higher priced (and more productive) players to fit those slots, although I would like to sneak Palffy in there.

lidstrom is a waste, IMHO. How have you done in Ultimate, I really don't think you should pick him up until his price reaches the perfomance you need out of a defenseman. I could be wrong, but that would be my strategy and ended up in the top 30 with luck last year. Money and saving trades is so big at the begnning of the year.

Irish Red. I would advise using 3 trades this early in the season. Pick players opening day with a good 3 week schedule as it is so important to focus on making money and saving trades. Points can come later.

Die_Habs just want to wish you luck this year again, looks like we're in the same auto, as long as you want to stay should be some fun competition again :)
And in regards to D, to start the year off I try and go fairly cheap there, and just have players who can be long holds as you don't want to use many trades on D.

Die Habs - thanks for the input. I am REALLY big on the Maple Leafs offense this year, and those three trades are the only three that I plan to make before November. Having said that, I should post my new and improved opening day lineup:
R.NIEDERMAYER 2.56 STUMPEL 4.30 RONNING 4.58 MARC.HOSSA 1.92 R.NASH 3.59 D.SEDIN 3.45 PALFFY 8.78 BRISEBOIS 2.47 F.KABERLE 2.26 CHELIOS 2.67 NABAKOV 6.10 POTVIN 4.07 TOTAL 46.75
I may chase a money train with Nash's spot, or a goalie. But I do agree, trades are valuable and should not be used lightly.

Dan I look forward to the competition. I should be staying in that division but could change, I am looking at making my money back on all three teams this year. Last year I only played with one and was lucky to do so well. You are so good that you may scare me away :)

I will take the side with Lidstrom. Lidstrom and MacInnis were worth every penny once December rolled around. Made my huge run with those stud Dmen pointing as well as 2nd teir wingers.
